Question: What is a kiss? Meaning... Why do we do it? It feels more primal and instinctual than a cluture thing, so why do we do it? It feels good and all, but what service does it provide other than feeling good? Sex is procreation, so I get why humans do that, but why do we kiss?

What is it inside us that makes us want to put our mouth on another persons' with such lusting?

Kissing originates from an anthropological resistance to disease. By sharing saliva (even in minute volumes), one shares the bacteria/viruses that are present. This early exposure to the diseases carried by the other individual builds the immune system before full exposure gotten during sex. It is merely a chance to strengthen one's immune system is ready for the full exposure.

When applying your question to the act of kissing I heartily agree. when I look to the left, right and in front of me on any given day at work many plausible responses come to mind.

Nothing wrong with it... Im just curious about it.. Seeing someone you find attractive and want to mate with makes sense, but where does kissing fall in to it? Ive had some uncontrollable lust where I just had to devour someone else's face with my mouth (more or less) and Im wondering where that instinct comes from. Because thats what it feels like, instinct. But why?
