Ugh. I've taken English classes where the writing assignments seemed to be graded by the syllable. Everyone had to turn in the same word count, but the more syllables you used, the more points you got. If anyone ever wonders why academic writing in the humanities is so thick, pointless, needlessly complicated and generally awful, it's because they start conditioning us early. Write that way, get high grades.

In scientific writing the more pointless flowery things you write the worse they grade you. The whole goal is to be clear, concise, and to the point.

So let's say some imbecile signs up for Amazon using your email address, because they're a blithering idiot and can't grasp the concept of "this is not my email address, and the person who owns it is already pissed off at me for forgetting that umpteen times before".

Let's further suppose that said imbecile signed up because they bought a Kindle.

Would it be reasonable to change their password, fill their kindle with free crap (the stuff that's torn from wikipedia, badly converted from project gutenberg, vanity-published shit, and so on), and fill their wishlist with things like a 55-gallon drum of lube?
