Twice in this cartoon, you are given the dialogue option of "Tacoman came by." For years after the cartoon's release, I used "So... Tacoman came by" as a means of breaking an awkward silence in a conversation. Sometimes I even used it to start a conversation outright.

Fast-forward to one day when I decided to log on to the FtB IRC. There were a few people on, but not one person was saying anything. So I decided to break out my usual awkward silence phrase. However, no one responded for several minutes. I decided to log off, because it was apparent that no one was actually paying attention to the chat.

So I log on to FtB at some point after that and find that goatunit posted THIS.



From that perspective, it looks like I just poked my head in, said something about Tacoman, and immediately left before anyone could respond. And that's how I accidentally memed the place up.

The ironic thing about it was that I thought Tacoman was a random thing that Homestar Runner came up with. It turns out that the Brothers Chaps were actually referencing another flash cartoon. I checked out said Tacoman cartoon out of curiosity. It sucked. After that, the phrase and accompanying meme seemed less funny, so I stopped bringing it up so much for a while. I've gotten over it, though. I still use it quite often in my Skype conversations with Sethalidos.

Realized this morning that my sig had a spelling mistake. "Who wants to play some scury pirates" indeed.

Ah, that makes sense.

Just got done playing and intro/one shot of Hardwired Hinterlands using Yesterday's Tomorrow as the underlying system. Worked out pretty damn well. I'm going to have to bump YT further up my to-play list more often.

Someone mentioned the FtB IRC channel. I wonder if it's about that time for someone to get the idea to start it up again?

I've seen better luck had with Skype.

Six years ago a friend of mine ran an Earthdawn game that died because two of the players hated the game mechanics and hated commuting to the game. Today I found my in-character diary from that game.
