They won't know what hit them when the Boot Nation hears the call. Hell yeah! It'll be cool to see what happens as various gaming blogs, podcasts, and magazines pick this up. FtB is way up at the top, though, and it's only fitting that they start the inevitable chain reaction of generosity.

Though you have to wait a few days (to give their poor servers a rest), the stuff is fantastic.
Even if I never got a download though, what a great cause. It floors me that gamers have raised over $150,000!
I'm new to indie games and pdf downloads, but glancing through the downloads of some of these titles has got me very excited. I think the premise of Summerland is fascinating.

Re: Get some RPGs and help out Haiti
The final total was $178,900.00 raised. That is absolutely incredible.

Wonder if this will make it into the mainstream media...
But the next time someone that happens to play RPGs knocks over a liquor store, you know D&D will get front page coverage!

Dan wrote: Wonder if this will make it into the mainstream media... It was mentioned in an editorial (think that's the proper term for it; an article that promotes an opinion) in a newspaper over here in the Netherlands recently. It wasn't about RPG's or even about Haïti, though. The gist of it was that it tried to promote a more positive view of 'the Internet' (there's been a couple of bullshit stories in the media over here, for example there supposedly was some study that said people that spend time on the Internet get depressed and are prone to suicide, stuff like that). The charity from DriveThruRPG was one of the examples of something positive originating from the Internet.

Has anyone else been listening to the MP3 files that were part of the download?
I've been loving the "Police Precinct" incidental music.

Re: Get some RPGs and help out Haiti
Truth be told, I haven't downloaded anything from it. Their servers were massively overwhelmed at one point, so I just shrugged and moved on so other people could get their stuff. Or at least have one less person in the queue competing with them.

Re: Get some RPGs and help out Haiti
I downloaded all of mine at work last Friday morning in about 45 minutes. I must have picked an off-peak time.
