 scheduling reminder
Since we agreed to have this game on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month, our first session will be on this coming Wednesday, February 22nd. I think the start time is 7:30pm, but I honestly don't remember. Someone please confirm or correct that detail.
I have three basic objectives...
1. Review character backgrounds and tie-ins. 2. Give a quick tour of MapTool. 3. Create characters.
Characters will all be created on Myth Weavers and should be made public, both for my examination and so interested members of the podcast audience can follow along.
Any preference on creation method? I'm typically pretty generous with the dice, so I'm OK with anything from John's self-abusing methods to my own Bacchian ways. The only thing I don't want is a point-buy system. I realize it's the most fair, but the systems that use it tend to also turn out very same-y characters over time. I like some degree of randomness.

 Re: scheduling reminder
I am disappointed to hear that point by is off the table, but I will roll with whatever is decided.

 Re: scheduling reminder
My vote is with the standard 4d6 drop one and assign. I'm not seeing this forming up to be an extremely low power or high power campaign.

 Re: scheduling reminder
Since we can't do point buy I'd advocate for 5d6, drop lowest 2 then assign.

 Re: scheduling reminder
I'm somewhat surprised to see this much love for point-buy. So let me back up, drop the prejudice (momentarily, at least), and ask a question.
Why do you guys prefer point-buy to rolling?

 Re: scheduling reminder
Oh! That was a surprise. I shouldn't be able to do this. Sorry.

He has them where he wants them so I tend to go hands off. I'll tell him and he'll monkey around with the settings.

 Re: scheduling reminder
I don't care about PB or rolling. I think at some point I equated point buy to bolshevism on the mics but who knows.

 Re: scheduling reminder
I've just gotten used to it with Pathfinder society. I have my concept though and want to make sure I have bonuses in the categories that I want them in. Probability Chris's suggestion would more than likely give the strongest statted characters. I won't mind any method we go with though. I just generally prefer rolling stats when I haven't fleshed out my character yet, but point buy when I know what I want to build.
