So I'm thinking about running a game at FTC5
So, I'm thinking about running a game at fear the con 5, But i haven't dm'd in about 4-5 years. I have only really run DND 3.0-3.5.
Currently I am playing through Mass effect 3, In really dig the setting and I think there is plenty of room to tell other stories in that universe without bumping into people from the game.
I'm Really surprised that bioware hasn't made an official Mass Effect table top game like they did with Dragon Age. So now this leaves me to which system to use.
I have 3 options for systems.
Savage Worlds: Low crunch already several attempts at savage mass effect found on the web. I have the explorers guide but i have never played
Dnd4.0/ Gamma World : One could re flavor classes and weapons and monsters and be good to go. Medium to heavy crunch.
FATE: I have the dresden files rpg, I like the story focus. but this is the system i am the least Familiar and would also requires at lot of tweaking to fit in the setting. but i this system could handle biotics and tech powers the best.
Why am i posting this in the kicked in the dice bags forums? We may talking about how to set up con games on the show and I wanted to see if there was any interest in our audience. And also get feedback for my game.

Go FATE or SW. lighter, more pulpy and versatile.

i'd go with SW because Mass Effect is a setting where your actual abilities make the difference, not how thing relate to you.
Even thought Mass Effect is in the future with aliens and spaceships, it fells more real than the Dresden Files.
Don't get me wrong I like the Dresden Files both books and RPG and I think FATE is prefect for it. But I don't think that it has a fell of a harder sci-fi setting as Mass Effect.
PS What slot are you planning to run it in.

i think the last slot on the con is pretty light i gotta look over what i'm already signed up for and see where i can fit it in.
as far as savage worlds, never played the system i hear amazing things and i even found a pretty decent conversion already made. but i having never played it will probably be difficult to run.
starting to form my plot since i can do outline before i finalize the system.
The time frame is going to in the brief period of time between games 2-3.
The group is going to be task force hired by the shadow broker.

Do you need playtesters so you can get familiar with the system? I'll volunteer

I was thinking about this last night as I was playing ME3. Shepard & Co. are basically ubermensch. The system from the new Marvel Heroic RPG would probably work really well if you're going for highly cinematic rather than gritty. I'll be working up datafiles for Shepard's crew for my blog anyway because it sounds fun, if it's something that would interest you.
