Re: Player's Edition Episode 45: Cosplaying Bronies in Toron
Hey guys, great episode but I have one gripe. Chad could you please get a new argument for telling us to get over Firefly. I know you don't really care for the show and that's fine but telling us it been ten years, get over it, every time it comes up in conversation makes no sense to. If fans were just supposed to give up on shows after a certain amount of time we wouldn't have the new series of Doctor Who because there was nothing but a tv movie for 16 years between the original series and the new series. We wouldn't have had a next generation of Star Trek if the fans of the orginal series had given up after the animated series had flopped in the middle of that 18 year gap. Personally I would love to see a lot of my favorite shows get the next generation treatment: Jericho, Firefly, Jeremiah, Farscape, etc. It's probably not going to happen for a lot of shows I've seen but it doesn't mean I don't forget about them.
Have you stopped recommending The Sandbaggers to people even though it's been off the air for 32 years? Would you not watch a reboot/continuation of the series, even just one episode to see if they recreated the essence of the show or even made it better?
I know, when I think about it logically, the comment is for those rabid fan boys who try to ram their obsessions down your throat but you keep repeating it on your shows so it feels like your trying convince me the regular joe to let my love of something go. So can you stop busting my balls for liking something past it expiration date, please?

The one character that I thought of when Adam mentioned a normal guy in the midst of a bunch of power house characters: Harry Dresden's medical examiner friend Waldo Butters.

@Fallout_Monkey I can't speak for Chad, but if I could, I would say this: No. And here is why: So far as I can tell, Chad's beef is not with people who like the show. Chad's beef is with the people who lust after the show like a hypoglycemic fat man lusts after cake after not eating for 8 hours. I love Firefly too, man, but I have long since given up any hope that it might return. I think most rational, reasonable people will agree. I would be happy to be proven wrong (and I can cite at least twenty Internet rumors that would do so), but in the end, I have to face facts. Fox has never supported a science fiction television show in the long run, and they screwed Firefly over. Completely. And it's not coming back. Now, with Whedon's new clout over at Marvel Studios (now owned by The Walt Disney Company), he might have some say in what happens to Firefly. But saying that is not dissimilar to saying that he might have something to do with another Star Wars movie: Possible, but far-fetched. Anyhow, you may be tired of the same old song and dance, but a good argument holds true to the test of time. I would offer you cake in recompense for this quandry, but as has been previously noted... Love, ~Adam

Yes, no, and no.

I have to respect Lily for getting in shape and really diving into something she loves doing. I have known several attractive women who were given shit for their geek hobby. This is usually be other women who deep down are just insecure, jealous, or full of envy. More power to her, and she may end up inspiring some other young girls to not worry so much about the opinion of others.
P.s. anyone who loves on my little pony and hates on firefly has a thought process I just consider invalid.

I don't hate FF (nor do I LOVE MLP). I think the show was okay, had some good episodes and had some stupid ones and the movie sucked. I just think some of fans need to get over themselves.
