This is for all of you who are tired of me arbitrarily picking topics for the Player's Edition, so if you have something better for us discuss, throw down here!

Post Re: Player's Edition Topic Thread
I have been listening for about a year now. Yep, I'm the one. I apologize if you've discussed either of these before then (or even in the last year and I just forgot)

* Table-Top roleplaying games & education. I am a teacher who has gamed since 1st grade. How did gaming make you a better or worse student in secondary or college? Are you smarter because of your early gaming or did you game because you were smart. How did gaming improve your math skills, writing skills, handwriting, spelling, or vocabulary. I remember my 5th grade teacher being astonished that I knew what an incubus was. After I called a boy student an incubus because he kept trying to kiss all the girls. I'd also like you to discuss the negative impact table-top (and video RPGs) have on students, such as not completing assignments.

* Playing more than one character due to small party size or just to explore an interesting topic. I once played a halfling rogue and his mute half-orc "brother" for example. Kind of cliche in retrospect. Oh well, I was young.

Actually, I listen to FtB too, but I discovered Kicked in the Dice Bag first. I found it by searching iTunes for role-playing related podcasts. I heard about Fear the Boot when someone (probably you, Chad) from FtB appeared as a guest host on KitDB.

I've actually given some thought to using RPGs as a learning tool. I'm a father and an educator and I have begun to figure out ways to incorporate my hobby with my work.

Post Re: Player's Edition Topic Thread
When I taught high school, I was starting to put together a gaming club. There were students that were self-motivate to try to earn good grades. There were students motivated by sports. There were a lot of "misfits" that I thought could be motivated by RPGs. I was thinking something along the lines of a campaign where you could only play when you were passing all your classes and I was also considering an experience point bones for maintaining a certain gpa. I was probably going to use DnD 4e even though I don't care for it that much.

When we were in Elementary school my brother had a teacher that used Dungeons and Dragons in the classroom as an activity for the kids to work on in their free time. Some of them would skip recess to play in the class. I am starting my 10 year old on Pathfinder soon (getting her the new Basic Box for Christmas). I think playing role-playing games was a huge part of my education. After teaching yourself to play the HERO System, middle school math is nothing.

Hey there KitDB, I'm the Welsh guy who emailed in, the original reason i mailed was one of you had a pop at the English and thought you'd lose fans. Just wanted to state that we Welsh are not English (thank the gods) and so no fear of loosing a listener here

I think an ep about the differences of having a home bases for your party vs just all ways on the go.
