Post Favorite Wierd Al Songs
I'm working on my next episode of Random Encounters (NSFW for Language) but since my script for "The History of the Star Wars RPG" is stalling I'm replacing it with the "Top 1d20 Weird Al Songs". And since I know I can always count on geeks to have an opinion, I want you're help.

What are your favorite, or least favorite, songs he's done?

Jurassic Park and Truck Drivin' Song. I love 'em both.

You should combine them both and talk about "The Saga Begins"

All-time Favorite: One More Minute.

Least favorite? Any parody. While I enjoy a parody as much as the next guy (and I write them, too) the skill required to write one is negligible compared to the skill required to write a song from scratch.

In a parody, someone else did all the heavy lifting for you. All you have to do is change the words, sit back, and put on that smug expression that says, "Aren't I clever?"

Bear in mind that this comes from a guy who writes and performs the occasional parody. But the songs that earn my respect are the ones where the writer created the hook, the melody, the structure, the lyrics, the whole package. Weird Al's original songs far outweigh his parodies in terms of skill and humor.

He makes me sad, because it's like watching a genius-level painter spending most of their time doing paint-by-number velvet Elvises and getting huge amounts of acclaim for it.

Dare to Be Stupid and Amish Paradise.

Mikey and I are going to disagree about the parody thing but I'm not going to get into the why's here.

I've always liked the entire UHF soundtrack, but if I had to pick a favorite, "Beverly Hillbillies / Money for Nothing".
