The root cause of most traffic jams on highways is people waiting until the last minute to get in the lane they need to be in. For the most part this is what I do. If I'm in for a long haul I will usualy move to lane 2 and when I'm within around 5 miles I move over to where I need to be. On surface streets, if I know I'm gunna be turning left I will sit in the left lane. I try to drive safely as I can because I know that sometimes I get disctracted and I want space to mess up a little if I can. I hate tailgaters. My friend who acted as my DD when I went out drinking years ago would get so fixated on tailgaters that she almost rear ended other cars on multiple occasion. She was such a bad driver that people honestly asked me to drive while half in the bag instead of her stone sober. Some passengers (particularly Type-A control freaks) are very scared when I'm driving, because I don't have regular depth perception, and I tend to apply the brakes a little more lightly and gradually than they would themselves. Combining these two things make them freak out in close traffic, or at lights that are turning red. Honestly, I haven't had a wreck since my college days, but still there are people that will want to go somewhere, and insist on driving now. Which is fine by me, because I'm more likely to mess up with them screaming in my ear every five minutes.

Thankfully, it works out: She hates everybody's driving but her own, and I hate driving. So I get a Chauffer, and she gets peace of mind. Victory!

 Re: Web comic panels
I had never really thought about it before, but my wife is a bit of a control freak while I am not - except when we drive where it is reversed.

 Re: Web comic panels
My girlfriend hates my driving so much that she makes sure that she always sits in the passenger seat when we go anywhere to make sure she doesn't miss anything I'm doing wrong.

Mrs Bear only trusts my driving when:
1) She's drunk 2) Not in the car

 Re: Web comic panels
I'm kinda lucky. My wife trusts my driving despite my limited experience. Me, I get twitchy as hell in the passenger seat, which means it sucks when my hips hurt too much to drive. And yes, that is possible even with a slushbox and power brakes. And since the only painkillers that can cut that make me too stoned to drive...

I've gotten less than a dozen citations for parking or for expired registration, no moving violations. The only accidents we've been in was twice we were rear ended by ppl with led feet, and she was driving on both occasions.
