Shrapnel in his chest does the rest. Yeah, but he's a master player. He managed turn that disadvantage into an advantage. Loki failing to take over Stark's mind because he tapped the ARC and not flesh was funny, but I did sort of end of thinking "That's a weak-ass magic item."
