This is the rough piece that I'm going to be getting in 2 weeks it spells contradict.

Actually, it's a symbol associated with a band that got me through a LOT of tough times, combined with Celtic knotwork. Odin was not involved.

I'm contemplating a winged Hammer of Thor, though. That'd be seriously badass.

I've contemplated getting one, but have the very real fear that whatever I choose I will look back on in a decade or so and say "How stupid was I to permanently mark myself with this shit?"

I don't have the ability to post the photo of the actual tattoo, but to give you an idea: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/ogham.htm I have the vertical letter "S" (saille) which stands for the willow tree on my inner left wrist.

At some point, I want to get a Celtic knotted sun on the back of my left hand, but even though I've wanted it for six years now, I haven't gotten it because of money and the possibility of future employers not being okay with a prominent tattoo. I'm also debating a spear, though I'm not sure where that would go. I've always imagined it coming down like a necklace near the collar bone, but because I wear necklaces, that wouldn't work. So now I'm contemplating a spear on one arm and a short-hilted hammer on the other.
