Temple of the Winds I enjoyed and right now I am in reading Soul of Fire and like it a great deal. I think my favorite story parts came from Pillars of Creation; when I re-read that story paying attention only to the Richard parts, I enjoy it far more than when I re-read it in its entirety. (Yes, I am a book re-reading machine!)

I have a nasty habit of picking up a LOTR book and then just finishing the series from whatever mid-sentence word my eyeballs fall on.
We're now teabagging Saruman after he got his shit pushed in around the midpoint of Two Towers.

Just finishing Twilight Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko http://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Watch-Bo ... 497&sr=8-1Final book of the series. If you've only seen the movie Night Watch, do yourself a favor and pick these up. They are a great read. Lukyanenko himself studied psychology so his characters are all very rich and detailed and ethical quandries they face are very compelling.

Just seconding the recommendation of the Lukyanenko series. It's great stuff.
I also liked the movies as well, although I think of them as more of a visual guide to the books. Not too heavy on content but they certainly look pretty cool.

Finally!* Today I picked up: Toll the Hounds, the eighth Malazan Book of the Fallen, by Steven Erikson. I'll be in my bunk. Doug. *I ordered it in mid August. Canada Post jobbed things up, and when I eventually got my delivery notice I went to the postal depot yesterday evening and got there just as there was a power failure, and the subsequent locking of doors and suspension of service.

I third the recommendation Lukyanenko series. Post-Soviet Russian Urban Fantasy ... how's that for sub-sub-genre-ization?
Doug.
