Ya, just finished it last night. Damn, like non-stop action from about 20 pages in till the ending. Hard to put down. Sad about several deaths, especially Silena (Aphrodite's daughter). That was a tough one. Though I disagree with Percy... I would've chosen to be a god. Who says you cant hang with Annabeth as a god... your a god! Im pretty sure you can do w/e you want at that point. Nevertheless, a damn fine book ending a damn fine series.

So did you... ... know it was a Gaimanesque spin on Kipling's The Jungle Book before you started reading? ... make the connection part way through? ... get your mind blown away just now? (Note: I was in the third category when I first heard someone make the point, and I had to go back and look at it from that point of view.)

So, you going to move on to the Heroes of Olympus followup series? There's only two books out so far, and while the first one is pretty good, the second is pretty damn awesome.

Bad Religion: How We Became a Nation of Heretics, by Ross Douthat. It's very good so far, but the book is basically distilled essence of Cos, so I'm not going to post anything further here. If you're interested in my thoughts, I'm sure I'll have some on my blog when I finish it.

And I still thought it was fantastic. Gaiman is amazing at tackling hard situations and dark subject matter and making them appropriate for young adults/kids. He's totally my hero.

At the moment, I am moving onto Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse book 11) and then the Hunger Games. I will probably pick up the Heroes of Olympus soon. Looking forward to seeing the story continue. Though I understand Percy is not the main focus anymore, should still be interesting.
