Ellipses Question

 Ellipses QuestionWhen beginning a sentence with ellipses, is it proper usage to run them right up against the first word or should there be a space?
Examples: "...what?" "... what?" One of those things I've always wondered and never asked. |

Re: Ellipses Question Strunk and White doesn't say explicitly, but the back cover has an example that has the ellipsis directly adjacent to the word.

Ellipses Question Directly next to the word. No space.
