I was thinking he'd end up a Revenant or whatever it is Katlin has become. Mellisandre worships the same god that the flaming priest (whose name I'm forgetting) does who brought back Dendarrion and Kaitlin. Thoros of Myr.

Here is a wild, out of left field theory:

Jaqen Hagar
The Kindly Man
All the same guy

 Re: A Song of Ice and Fire Spoilerific Thread
I was dicussing this with Mrs Bear but am interested in your thoughts:
In the book, Jon is chosen by Qhorin Halfhand to join him on the ranging to deal with the wildlings but in the series, Jon asks to go and Qhorin is amiable to the idea.
The difference doesn't change the larger course of events but given what follows, it seems to me the difference has a subtle and possibly profound effect on Jon's characterization at that point in the timeline.
agree/disagree/thought/does it matter?
====================
On a separate note, I thought it was interesting how Jaqen H'ghar seems to observe the Red God, given the society/community he's potentially affiliated with (House of Black and White) doesn't seem to keep any special religious observances, beyond The Stranger.
Did this seem odd/interesting to anyone else?

All the same guy I could totally see this. I also think Syrio will make a reappearance.
