 Solomon Kane
Okay, so a still from Solomon Kane appeared on the front page of IMDb today. Does this mean that this is getting a US release. I've heard that it's not all that good, but man I have been dying to see this for years.

 Re: Solomon Kane
Very watchable. That bloke from Rome (cant remember his name off-hand) did a good job. Felt far more true to Howard's work than any of the Conan movies.

 Re: Solomon Kane
Saw it in a theater that had two other people in it.
I liked it a lot. I was thinking, however, given the episodic nature of the SK stories, that this would make a great television show, or at least a movie that is a series of four or five shorter tales with a single theme that brings it all together for the finale--it actually comes close to that but not all the way. It'd have been cool to even have title plates to separate some things out.
The scene in the burned out church was pure Kane!! My favorite part by far.

 Re: Solomon Kane
I once bought it on a blind movie buying spree because the DVD was pretty cheap and was pretty surprised by how much I liked it, expecting something very campy I could only watch tongue-in-cheek. Not being familiar with any of the original fiction I cannot tell whether or not there's "wasted potential" in there or how true it was to the stories, but since Solomon Kane is one of the grand daddies of the genre, I at least was not expecting something "original" by modern standards. Still, I think the movie played the hand it had right for what it's worth. As far as fantasy movies go, I would actually say it's one of my favorites.
