 Re: Star Trek 2013
Maybe he'll play a holodeck Holmes and face off against the self-aware holodeck Moriarty from Next Gen.

How hard would it have been to come up with something a bit more different? Her recycled a lot of stuff like that. Will Ryker started out as essentially Will Decker from the first movie. Chekov's hat looks wonderfully Russian.

They did an episode of Enterprise (I think), where Sung discovers the error of his ways and decides at the end to work on androids. Of course, Roddenberry was dead by then so it may have just been writers doing some fanfic.

Okay, the time of Enterprise is such that Scotty was a young officer when Captain Jonathan Archer was an admiral nearing retirement. Then, we add a hundred years to that to get to Next Generation, and that same guy is still alive? The Werefrog find such a thing quite dubious.

The Werefrog find such a thing quite dubious. If you mean Scotty he was trapped inside the transporter buffer of a starship following some kind of accident and freed many years later by the TNG crew.

I think he is talking about Dr Sung - the creator of Data - who was immensely old in the TNG episode. I'm pretty sure it is established canon that the Dr Soong of TNG and the Dr Soong on Enterprise are NOT the same person, but father and son. I didn't get to watch Enterprise, so I'm not sure. I'll bet Wikipedia knows. (Runs to look) Yup The Fast food of Knowledge: Wikipedia wrote: In 2004 Spiner returned to Star Trek when he appeared as Dr. Arik Soong, an ancestor of Data's creator Dr. Noonien Soong, whom he also played, in a three-episode story arc of Star Trek: Enterprise in "Borderland", "Cold Station 12", and "The Augments".

I was just talking about the similarity of names of Data's creator and Khan. A vowel sound away.
