OMG!! BEST MOVIE EVAR!!!

Well, not really... Since Spiderman 2 anyway.

The pacing, the banter.. It was like watching a good comic. A bit formulaic, but then, that's what you read a comic book for.

When This is out on disk, I'm going to watch it with my boys. I am kind of strict with what they watch... Daniel will love this Hulk, and Simon will flip when he sees Cap.

As far as I'm concerned it was the best comic book movie ever. I had no complaints at all. The fight scenes were like nothing I have ever seen dome successfully in a live action movie before.

:agree: :agree: :agree:

I finally saw it and loved it. Think I'm gonna have to see it again before it exists the theater.

It is so weird having dreams come true. Films I never imagined I would see on the scale and in the quality of recent years. First with the Lord of the Rings, then with the Marvel characters that I read nearly thirty years ago, and soon the Hobbit. It's just inexplicable. I never thought I would witness the things in "real life" that I imagined in my head for so many years.

My hope (and prediction) for coming marvel films:

I like how they split apart at the end, and "when we need them they'll be here." So, what I hope is that each film shows Thanos obtaining a gem for the gauntlet which will culminate in the second Avengers movie.

Are they going to roll the new Spiderman into Avengers 2, do you think? He was an Avenger at one point, right? Or he worked with the Avengers or something.

They are owned by different studios. Also, the likelihood of Columbia Pictures giving up a moneymaker like Spider-Man to Disney is few and far between.

About the first after the credits scene:
I have no idea who this Thanos person is, cuz I'm too old, but the alien they showed was clearly a Skrull. Is Thanos a Skrull?

Overall, loved the movie, I missed several lines (including the Hulk's) because the audience was laughing too hard to hear it.

I was surprised how much Black Widow there was in the movie. I'm pretty certain she had more screen time than anyone else.

Edit: Went and looked up Thanos on Wikipedia

This. I liked the scene where Cap gives directions to a bunch of cops, gets a "Who the heck are you!?", and then immediate respect after he handles a few aliens right in front of them.

I also liked the part where Thor gives Cap a hand up and you can hear Mjolnir crashing into things off screen.

On Hawkeye: I wasn't surprised when Loki took him over, but I was expecting him to kick the bucket and not Coulson. Coulson wasn't a surprise either since some idiot site spoiled it on me. :problem: Also, I like Hawkeye better as Ronin in the New Avengers comic.

I really cracked up on the second teaser.

They just sat there... in the shop that Stark suggested, eating, exhausted.

Also:I don't think Coulson will stay dead.

And: When Hulk and Thor were standing there and Hulk does a side punch, knocking Thor across the room, and then he gives a snort or sniff that said satisfaction.

There were soooooo many treasures like this in the movie, I want to go see it again!

1) The SHIELD helicarrier gave me a nerd-boner. I've been waiting of that set piece to be handled correctly for years.
2) Quibble: Though I wish they'd thrown in one or two more references to Cap being a fish out of water, his scenes were handled pretty well. I felt the blue in his costume was a little brighter than it should have been and he needed a helmet, not a cowl. It made him stick out in a weird way.
3) Promotional material aside, Black Widow's ass shots were kept to a minimum... and she acknowledges being Russian and a former baddie. (Side note: please don't let Hawkeye turn into her boyfriend. BW works better when she's romantically unattached). Found it amusing they gave her the 'widow sting' gloves and she never used them. Needs her own film.
4) Thor needed sleeves.
5) Hulk turning Loki into a rag doll. Awesome. Mark Ruffalo, also awesome as Bruce Banner.
6) Iron Man's quip about schwarma being tied into the after-credits. Awesome. Also, Stark Tower turning into Avenger's Tower? Yes, please!
7) Was disappointed by the Chitauri, which were the Ultimate universe's version of the Skrulls. Needed to be more Skrull-y and less necromonger-y. Maybe that was an intentional tie-in to Thanos? Anyway, needed more spaceships a la ID4 and fewer space fish.
8) Final Avengers v. Loki & Friends dust-up was great.
9) Liked the typical hero-(literally) fighting-hero-then-becoming-friends set-up.

Overall, I'd tie this with Burton's Batman as being one of the most engaging and faithfully adapted superhero films I've seen.

2) I loved the "I get that reference." Not only because it worked in the film, but also because of the gaming table flash I had. Our group is always in a battle to determine who can come up with the most obscure reference that only one other person at the table will get.

5) YES, I laughed so hard I almost couldn't stop. Yes, he came across as the most seriously intellectual Banner to date.
6) What a great scene--and so Whedonesque. The dinner table scene. No dialogue needed. So much captured through the expressions and body positions.

3) She used 'em in the last fight, but it was admittedly hard to tell unless you were looking for it..

The second stinger was just dumb.
