 Good steampunk movies & TV?
So what's good to watch in this genre? There must be shows that are less silly than Wild Wild West (which was fun, btw).

Re: Good steampunk movies & TV?
the first thing that comes to mind is: The secret Adventures of Jules Verne Well done, very entertaining, but a bit too short. Main character Phileas Fogg was played by fan-favourite Michael Praed (Robin Hood from the great Robin of Sherwood series.) Can't think of any other Steampunk TV at the moment. Although I hear that the Canadian sereis Murdoch Mysteries has a little bit of Steampunk feel.

Riese was a pretty good short series. That was the only TV I could think of.

Thanks for reminding me about Riese! I had watched the first episode some time ago and completely forgot.

I think it only ever went like ten mini episodes before fading.

Re: Good steampunk movies & TV?
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr had some steampunk elements, though it was about as silly as Wild Wild West (which I nevertheless thoroughly enjoyed, but thought it suffered from some rough editing).

Steamboy, a 2004 anime movie was a hoot. Actually got to see it on the big screen when it made the rounds in the art theater. -- TAZ

The movie Hugo is really, really steampunk. I loved it! I don't know any TV shows off the top of my head, though.

...wow, this is really an under-served genre for as popular as it is.
