 John Carpenter's THE THING
I just saw this on the big screen (for the first time). What an amazing flick. I'm pretty sure it's flawless. Have you seen it? What do you think?

 Re: John Carpenter's THE THING
I just saw it a month ago. All I knew going in was that it's was considered a classic.
It's pretty damn good!

 John Carpenter's THE THING
It's damn good. But then everything John Carpenter touches tends to be the shiznit.

 Re: John Carpenter's THE THING
I ran across something that reminded me of this thread. The Things is a short story: it's The Thing told from the thing's point of view.

 Re: John Carpenter's THE THING
The first time I got to see The Thing was when Universal Pictures that released it was celebrating an anniversary so they had their top 50 or so movies in theaters for the summer. The theater had the AC turned up so high that you actually felt chilly during the movie. It was such a great introduction to one of my favorite horror movies of all time.
So was that Childs in the end or did The Thing get him? Do you know the answer?

 Re: John Carpenter's THE THING
I read that The Thing (2011) may have retconned an answer: Namely, that the Thing doesn't duplicate piercings or fillings, and the fact that Childs has a piercing means he's human.
