There's Captain Charles "Charlie" Simian (chimpanzee), Shao Lin (golden monkey), Spydor (spider monkey), Gor (gorilla), and Dr. Splitz/Splitzy (multi-personalitied orangutan). Both orangutans and gorillas are apes. Great apes, even.

It had some real starpower for voice actors for a Saturday morning cartoon. James Avery, Michael Dorn, Dom Irrerra, Malcolm McDowell, and Jerry Doyle (of Babylon 5). These are all recognizable names from outside of animation. The humor was light and silly even if some of the subject matter was dark. I had a great time watching Captain Simian. wow, 2 Star Trek and 1 Babylon 5. Who are those other two?

 Michael Bay "sodomizing" TMNT
James Avery was uncle Phil on Fresh Prince. Dom Irrerra is a stand up comedian. I don't think Star Trek for McDowell but more Clockwork Orange so I hadn't made that connection.

Taking him from Clockwork Orange instead of Star Trek is so mainstream. Okay, The Werefrog would have thought the same had it not been for watching the Nostalgia Critic discuss his part in a recent video.

And here I was remembering him for the remake of Fantasy Island he starred in. Then again, I was the only one to like that.
