 Re: Michael Bay "sodomizing" TMNT
I am totally with you on Revenge of the Fallen being a step down. If you've seen Transformers, you've seen Transformers 2. But Dark of the Moon? The story makes not much sense. Given. But the shitstorm of robot killing, city destroying action in the last third is mind-blowing. A whole new level of Bay-dom. If you are at least partially amused by Bay, Dark of the Moon is the most Bay thing ever.

I enjoyed Dark of the Moon more than Fallen because I had less than zero expectations about the whole thing---oh, and I'd been drinking, that helped.

I didn't even know Ninja Turtles were anatomically correct.

I would like to point out that if you sum up the total number of explosions in his films, he averages more than one explosion per minute across his filmography. Out of curiosity, do you know if this explosion statistic treats escalating explosions (what I call it when an explosion then blows up more, apparently blowing up multiple times) as multiple explosions, counting the 'booms' essentially, or just one prolonged explosion? I did not do the primary research (i.e., counting of explosions) so I don't have data on that. The only metric I had listed number of explosions; it did not contain a definition of what constituted an explosion. My source was an infographic charting the number of explosions per movie in Michael Bay films.

Cue elitist hand wringing in 3... 2... 1... And box office is the measure of success if you're a production/distribution company. I for one, reserve my theater movies for the big budget films that must be seen on the big screen. Even so, with the cost, I've become more "discerning"--probably not the best term, since I still pay for trash. I will see "Wrath of the Titans" on the BS, because it looks really cool, but it will not be in my top 30 of 2012. But it will have big, bad monsters, and that's cool. I only saw the first Transformers in the theater and enjoyed it well enough, but the thing is why see the second two? I saw giant robots fight, good enough for me. I also find it amusing that you have to look long and hard for people to admit seeing more than one or two of Ikoma's films in the theater, but the fact of the matter is a shitton of sombodies forked over their money. I can proudly say that not only have I only seen one of those on the big screen, but that I have not so much as Netflix streamed any of the ones to come out since 2000. It's not that I have anything against popcorn movies--I just like my popcorn with flavor, and Bay has none.

Armageddon was my sister's favorite movie for a while and she had it on VHS; then I saw Transformers in theaters. Wait, I take that back. A "friend" of mine dragged me to Transformers 2. I did not pay for the movie but I did sit through it. The three flasks of whiskey I brought weren't enough. Knew I should have brought the 120 proof stuff...

Twins killed in opening scene. 2. When they find the matrix and bring optimus back LaBoof instead merges and becomes Rodimus Prime, kinda like in the old animated movie (Arise Rodimus Prime...) 3. No devastator ball jokes.

 Re: Michael Bay "sodomizing" TMNT
In the comics the turtle's "mutagen" was the byproduct of a portal device used to move from dimension x to Earth. Hence there were a lot of aliens in the comic, aka Krang's race. There were a lot of them in human disguises.
So if he wants to change it that they are like a "Rebel" faction that gets through the gate I'd lean on the "Ok, I'll see it." boat. I'll wait for some concept art and a trailer to give my final verdict.
