Post Cartoon Network's Thundercats (Now with Spoilers!)
It premiered tonight and I thought it was really good. I generally don't go in for the nostalgia revivals. The remakes don't live up to the memories of their predecessors (which usually aren't as good as they're remembered to be anyhow). But this seemed pretty genuinely thought out and given an original approach with a nod to the series that inspired it.

Post Re: Cartoon Network's Thundercats
So... Thundercats is one of the few cartoons I can think of that I remember disliking as a kid. I don't remember why, but it didn't keep my interests.

Maybe I was scared of Furries, even back then.

Thundercats didn't hit me at the right age when they first aired (ditto He-Man, Voltron, Transformers, GI Joe, etc), so I have no nostalgia motivator.

We can't all have had the privilege growing up with Doc Savage, Gumby or the Lone Ranger. ;)

I found the Lone Ranger on Hulu a couple years back, and introduced my daughter to the show. It was awesome, she was at just the right age where she didn't realize that he wasn't going to die every time he got into a fight. She was on the edge of her seat.

Man, I used to love watching the Lone Ranger Theater every Sunday morning...

Post Re: Cartoon Network's Thundercats
So, I watched the first hour of this and...meh.

Why do I care about any of these characters?

Why do the ppl have so little concern for the prince of their own nation?

Who has magic and who doesn't?

Why is technology superior?

Why is a race with advanced mechanized technology and energy weapons sufferning/starving/wtv? How are they being actively oppressed?

Why is homeboy motivated to engage in an act of betrayal after years of loyalty?

They were going for something more sophisticated but they've just made an incoherent mess when it doesn't need to be.

Question, do you always analyze the fun out of life?

Only when necessary. ;)
