 Eve
I started my 14 day trial, and I can already tell I'm going to like this game. I know it takes a very very very specific type of person to enjoy this game, but my friend whose played it since launch was convinced I was that specific type of person and he might be right. But I suppose we'll see in 13 days.

 Re: Eve
Sounds like you've got some good support and advice in the form of the friend who got you into the game. That's the important thing with a game like eve that has such a steep learning curve

He's a real deal veteran, has some huge ships ect. I'll basically be in constant communication with him. He's just happy because he's been trying to get me to play it for over a year.

 Re: Eve
I played for a few months, i kind of like it well enough but stopped playing because i just do not want to invest the kind of time or effort to get to places i might want to be. Also i was feeling that line sneaking up on me ware i start taking the game to seriously to the point of it no longer being a game and that's something i tray and avoid.
Just based on prior experience

 Re: Eve
I had a friend try to get me playing, and when I tried it, I thought it was great... then I tried to inverse the mouselook. Uninstalled.

 Re: Eve
Ive played for years and kept a blog, it's in my sig. Ardent was actually the one to really get me into it. Lately my account lapsed dormant thanks to RL and a bit of burnout but if you need any pointers, halp, etc let me know. Also, hop into Adhocracy Public and ask anything you want. That's my corp and they're an awesome set of people. Tell them Memoocan sent you and if you wanna get into wormholes, they are the place to go.

 Re: Eve
The Unibis always good. Graduated it myself, but just know that you may grow out of it quickly. It's not always for everyone but its a good place to start and grab all the info you can.

 Re: Eve
Still playing here. Do mostly solo/small gang PvP and use PI (Planetary Interaction) in a WH and PvP loot to fuel my income. Used to do more piracy to keep the money flowing in.
The nice thing for me isn't the interface or the pretty ships, it is the sandbox and anything goes feel. I can feel like I'm "winning" when we defend our POS from invaders or when I put out a PvP video featuring solo roams.
A grunt in a large alliance can define victory as taking over a region of null sec. A market player can define victory as having a trillion ISK; a miner/indy player by producing fleets of ships to sell on the market etc. The game presents no large bias on one method being "the right way to play the game".
