I've definitely gotten three bucks' worth of fun out of them, and that's without coming close to completing either.

I could stand to murder more hobos.

So... I'm there. Ready to go on the final ME3 mission tonight. Got my readiness up to 98% (I'll hit 100% before I go on the mission - just 'cause I am sure there is an achievement for it).

I'm nervous.

I shouldn't be. I often like endings others rage about (BSG, Lost). I still am.

After my experience with ME3, I decided I needed something that was kind of the complete opposite in tone. While I tried to do a second playthrough of ME3 with my FemShep Soldier, after returning from Gary Con, I found my desire to play it again vanished.

So, I loaded up Borderlands. GUNS GUNS GUNS GUNS GUNS! Yeah....that's much better.

Bastion. Very good game, very pretty, very engaging gameplay.

All of this is secondary, though. Most importantly: Very awesome narrator. Near as I can tell, there's only one voice actor in the game, and it's the narrator, and he's awesome. Written awesome, acted awesome, just all-around awesome. The narrator takes what would be a solidly good game and makes it excellent.

110% agreed.

There is the singing but I don't know if that would be considered voice acting, it's a pretty big part of the story.

Ah, true. I'd forgotten the singing. Am I supposed to be able to understand a word she's singing? Because I can't. At all.

Also playing: Resident Evil< Operation Raccoon City.

FUCK. NEMESIS.

Okay, now that that's out of my system ... it's not as bad as most reviews I've seen make it out to be. It's a decent third person shooter. Just don't play the stealth guy in a non-versus game. His abilities are completely useless against any mobs you'd actually want to use them against. The scientist chick, Four-eyes, is a horrible person, and a great character, though. Why so great? One of her abilities involves shooting either a living enemy or a zombie with a dart. This dart is full of modified T-virus. If the target's alive, there's a chance they'll raise as a Crimson Head ally when they die. If it's a zombie? Crimson head ally, right now.

She also has one that can take control of infected enemies. Useless against all-living groups, but anything else ... well ... let's just say it even works on Tyrants (briefly), shall we?

But not Nemesis. Of course not. Because Nemesis is a D-bag.

She also basically has boomer bile, which is nice I guess.

Attacking my pile of Steam games from the holidays. Currently at the top of the stack is DeadSpace.

Given how much I like flicks like Event Horizon, this is right up my alley now that I have a machine that can run it at full graphics.

I dig my hole, you build a wall
I dig my hole, you build a wall
One day that wall is gonna fall

Gonna build that city on a hill
Gonna build that city on a hill
Someday those tears are gonna spill

So build that wall and build it strong, cause we'll be there before too long

Gonna build that wall up to the sky
Gonna build that wall up to the sky
Someday your bird is gonna fly

Gonna build that wall until it's done
Gonna build that wall until it's done
But, now you've got nowhere to run

So build that wall and build it strong, cause we'll be there before too long

...or something to that effect.

I picked up the soundtrack for Bastion. Awesome music. Reminds me a lot of Firefly.

Unstoppable Gorg. 5-of-5 stars. Everything is done in a 1940's Flash Gordon style theme, complete with chintzy foam models and sparklers. They totally nailed the vintage look, and it's a good tower defense game besides. For those without iPads, definitely search YouTube for the videos. Hilarious.
