 Re: World of Tanks
I think that MWO is going to pull in a lot of people but I also think that means it's servers might be taking a major hit when it comes out. Also, I'm predicting opening day bugs and not a huge amount of mechs or equipment at the start. Not really down the game, I plan on playing it a lot but I'm going to be playing a lot of WoTs until MWO matures and pulls me away.

 Re: World of Tanks
I'm already running 2 tier X heavies, 2 Tier IX mediums, a Tier IX TD, and pretty much tier 8 or 9 everything else but arty. When MWO comes out I will still run some Company Battles or platoons but I will probably stop grinding up the lower tier stuff and making sure I get my doubles in.

 Re: World of Tanks
Is there a way to send PMs or something in game, or do you just invite people to a private channel?

Yeah, it's kinda lame. But it worked well enough to get in touch with a couple Booters and we got a Skype call going that was fun.

 Re: World of Tanks
Ok, question. I was playing in my arty tonight, and had somebody get pissed and call me a kill stealer. I caught a round, probably a flyer, from their fight which had been going on for 3 minutes around a building, turned and blasted him with 105mm of justice, blowing his M3 Lee to bits. Am I inconsiderate, or just killing the bad guy? Are we going on a Clan style one on one honor duel system, because that would be news to me. I have heard a lot of things in this game, but kill stealer is a new one. Not to mention, I have a ton of kills "stolen" from me right before I reload.
Honestly, I don't really care, especially since XP is mostly for damage done. Thought I'd share my stupid encounter for the day though.

These are completely different play styles; the Team Player thinks "what will achieve the team's objectives?" and does that, while the Heroic Deathmatcher thinks "How can I increase my personal bodycount?" and acts accordingly. It's kind of funny watching HDs flail ineffectually in highly team-focused games like L4D, Payday, or Tribes. When you're looking for stuff other than K/D, Heroic Deathmatching is bollocks. The tl;dr: he's an asshole.

The tl;dr: he's an asshole. The funny thing is, I am totally one of those guys that loves seeing a whole bunch of kills after my name. Just ask Chad and Pat, I was whooping and hollering when I managed to single handedly wipe out a third of the enemy force. But I can reign that side of myself in because I get more XP if the team wins the match overall.

I love watching the leaderboards after a L4D2 campaign, or the stats screen after a Payday heist. Even better if I'm at the top.

Stealing a Lee kill is like using a penny from the have a penny/take a penny tray at a BP gas station and having the guy behind you cry because he can't buy a loosey now. It's a fucking Lee. If your self respect requires that you kill a Lee you need to hang it up.
