Re: NEW DWARF FORTRESS VERSION RELEASED
I found the game impossible to play until I discovered tilesets. Luckily the lazy newb pack has tilesets plus stonesense (graphical viewer) set up by default.

For the rest of us, it's a non-starter. I wouldn't say that I love that. I tolerate it. Yeah, I would just add that it's incredible once you get over that one hump. It's a big hump, but it's totally worth it.

Today on the bay 12 forums, there's a post from a guy who has been experimenting (in the game) with hunting whales using ballistae: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=101795.0I love Dwarf Fortress.

Re: NEW DWARF FORTRESS VERSION RELEASED
I hope the clothing bug fixes address the "kids drop all their clothes" thing. I have a fortress that is predominantly children (lost four full squads of adults taking down three megabeasts due to my own stupidity), and it's LITTERED with discarded clothing that the kids never collect.
