This game has some huge damn issues, but for me manages to be a bloody brilliant in spite of them. Like, the gameplay is quite janky in almost every way but the amount and impact of choice in the story is, well, what Bioware would like to pretend that they offer but don't actually.

Chad, the hacking minigame is unfortunately quite screwed up on the PC version due to the controls (the mouse specifically). I've heard it's a lot easier to do on a gamepad.

I'm getting the feeling that the game was made with a game pad in mind. :(

It's just a bit shoddily programmed in general. (A game from Obsidian with shoddy programming but awesome writing. Now there's a surprise for you.)

It also suffers somewhat from the "you ghosted through the level? well too bad, here's a bossfight and you'll be detected in the cutscene" issue that we've seen more recently in DE:HR, although at least the boss fights themselves in AP aren't as badly done and they're actual characters with some proper buildup story-wise.

...you know, it sounds like I'm shitting on this game even though I really, really liked it.

For anyone intending to play it though, don't give up until you're past the Saudi Arabia series of missions; they're generally considered to be the weakest past of the game and it really opens up after that.

Seriously, I'm about to uninstall the game over the hacking thing.

I started playing the game. I was having a ton of fun stealthing around the tutorial. I was quite enjoying it.

Then I hit the hacking mini-game. Is the gonna be a mandatory thing? 'cuz I tried the one in the tutorial three times and I still have not gotten it. I am going to build my character in any way possible to avoid hacking at all costs.

Also; do you start with those barcode things for phones on your clothes? Why?

I never understood those.

Played around with it last night. I didn't mind the hacking mini-game, but I can see how it would possibly get old of they make you do it like 10 times on every level.

Side note: The fact that this is a console port using the Unreal engine, with game controller support built it makes me even more annoyed at Killing Floor for not having it (there was a stretch when my group was on a KF kick, but we basically couldn't play it when our friend Brian came over, because he couldn't deal with the keyboard & mouse, and KF didn't play nice with the X-Box controller like Left 4 Dead did).

It was designed for the XBox first and PC second.

Yes. There is mandatory hacking, though not a lot of it. There's a lot of hacking you can skip, but you'll miss out on a lot of secondary objectives, cash and dossier intel.
Invest in the sabotage skill to get Breaking and Entering; it helps somewhat. I did notice with myself that I quickly became better at spotting the code segments you're supposed to select.

What?

Google says that its just a random QR code and nothing I've seen indicates that it does anything. From an in-game perspective, I can see it being a handy way of tagging a Joe Doe. So, it's not an easter egg or anything interesting.

The fans will tell you different and honestly they have gotten father than I did but I found game play lacking and nothing really compelling in the few hours that I played. I'm not going to lament the loss of $2 but I could have spent my time downloading something else for a few hours I suppose.
