Re: Dead Island - More Zombie Fun
So for those of us in the US Dead Island came out today.
What do Y'all think? I kinda want it, since I love Left 4 Dead and the thought of Left 4 Dead with classes and levels is awesome. But I'm also trying to save money for something I'm having next year. A... wedding I think it was? I don't know, Shooting zombies sounds more fun...

Dead Island - More Zombie Fun
I watched my brother play it for a bit last night. He made me sick jerking the joystick around to look at stuff because he was checking everything in the prologue while I was waiting to play. Apparently you have to complete the prologue before you can play multiplayer. I got tired of waiting and went to sleep. It looked just like Left for dead.

Re: Dead Island - More Zombie Fun
I really want to play it I'm just trying to justify the $50.
EDIT:
There are four character classes.
Sam B is a rapper who specializes in blunt weapons (Highest starting health) Xian Mei is one of the hotels workers who uses bladed weapons (Lowest starting health) Logan Carter is a former football player who is good with throwing weapons Purna is an ex-cop and is good with firearms.
Unless ammo is very few and far between I think Purna may be spammed.

It seems this is the case, (rare ammo that is), which given its set on a tropical island resort seems fairly realistic. Not to mention guns don't seem to be as effective as melee is to a lot of the enemies.

Got a good review from PC Gamer. 83%, if memory serves. Not much to it beyond FPS, at least that was my take away, but you can mod interesting weapons.

Re: Dead Island - More Zombie Fun
I'm about 4-6 hours into this game and I'm liking it. The rulebook does little to tell you how to navigate menus, but so far I'm not screwing things up too badly.
