Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Sorry!
Box charges in beside Joshua, pulling one of the drow-made scimitars from his mouth as he approaches. His first attack is against another of the lesser drow, and is blocked.
Remind me: Can Dunn cast another spell while maintaining his phantasmal force?

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
For the next round Yul will maintain his attack against his original opponent but will increase it to include the palms of the Half Drow's hands. (GU, Yul can affect 20lbs worth of material. He is directing this attack on the layers of skin (where all the nerves are ) and not the meat underneath - face and palms are well within that limit )Yul splits his attention with the half drow to focus on another opponent. While maintaining Molecular Agitation on the one, Yul links minds with a second opponent - one that seems undeterred by Dunn's phantasm's. Yul's attack seeks out the drow's greatest fear and amplifies it to such a degree that the drow believes his life is threatened by it. Psionists have the ability to maintain multiple attacksPhobia Amplification

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Dunn has to concentrate to keep the attack going. He can only do simple movements like hiding under a table or climbing stairs, per previous game ruling. Dunn will keep his apparitions going until no one is any longer fooled, and he will vary however need be (leaving this up to you for efficiency's sake) to keep the apparitions moving and menacing, even though they can't actually hurt anyone. Maybe have the ghosts seem to enter the drow, forming a ghostlike mist over their own body. That should be creepy. When the apparitions are no longer useful, Dunn will attack with his wand of magic missile, though helping injured teammates get to safety, if there are any by then, will take priority.

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Morlan springs back atop the fallen drow with sword and dagger. Three fresh wounds spray arcs of misting gore across the room as the elf continues on toward the table. (Didn't roll damage as he couldn't survive the minimum anyway.)
Dunn maintains his illusory spirits, which keep two of the drow occupied at the table. The third (a female in a chain-backed piwafwi (drow cloak)) rises casually from her seat, unfurling a cruel whip from her belt. The whip consists of an adamantine grip and 10' length of braided leather. The braids split at the end to become three seemingly live serpents, their heads bobbing and fangs snapping as Joshua draws nearer.
If Joshua needed more incentive to battle the drow, he finds it when the female produces an unholy symbol of a spider and begins to cast a spell. She encases the top of the stairs in a shell of magical silence, preventing further spellcasting from Dunn (though he may maintain his illusion).
Her whip, seeming to act of its own accord, strikes out to bite Joshua. With some good fortune, he is able to avoid all three of its snapping mouths.
Seeing this, Mel moves in to protect Joshua and Box's rear so that they aren't flanked - all the better to tend them if that whip should be venomous.
The lizard-tending drow near the south door raises his hand and fires a bolt from his wrist crossbow at Morlan, striking him in the lower back (7 damage). The bolt tip is smeared with black, gummy toxin that nearly overwhelms Morlan with weariness. It is perhaps his first encounter with a sleep effect to which he is not immune, and it takes all of his will to power through the drug and remain on his feet. (He made his save.)
Two of the drow continue fighting illusionary ghosts and being freaked out by Dunn's antics with them.
Yul maintains his irritation of the half-drow by the stacks (2 damage). He then targets the drow that just shot Morlan and amplifies the would-be assassin's phobias. This has the unexpected result of turning his attention to the priestess! He looks like he'll flee through the south door on his next turn.
Thac0, where you said you were spreading the effect to his palms I took that to be flavor rather than actual effect. Let me know if the half-drow should've taken more damage than listed in your first post.
Joshua leaves the two lesser drow to Dunn's illusion and Box's sword, stepping instead toward the priestess. Defending himself from her horrible whip with his dagger, he lunges in with his sword and strikes her (9 damage). Assuming she doesn't move, he'll get to use his full attack next round.
Terrified by the hand he's been dealt, the psionics-afflicted half-drow retreats into the stacks, hoping to escape the torturous pain or find something to soothe it.
Yudumbox zeroes in on one of Dunn's occupied drow and attacks with his drow-made scimitar (13 damage), striking him down.
End of Round 1.

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
The damage roll on the surprise round would have been 1d4. Any damage applied on the first rnd would be on a 1d6 roll. No, not flavor, Yul was increasing the affected area so that he would find it increasingly impossible to brandish a weapon or touch anything, including anything that may soothe the pain. edit: 1d4 the first two round. This next round will be 1d6 and a great deal of pain - skin blistering, sluffing off.

Mel takes a couple steps over to the silenced area and sings (granted power of dispel silence), destroying the magical silence.
Can't silence the god of music!

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Morlan winces with pain as the bolt strikes him in the back, then he feels the first waves of numbness begin to drift into his body. He steels himself, biting his lip to create pain as a focus to combat the drug's effect. It seems to be enough, and the wooziness clears a little. With a roar he strikes his heels together and charges the crossbow-wielding drow (magic boots). Box's wiki sheet says he gets two attacks per round.

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
It seems that I've made two mistakes:
1) I think Thac0's cut-and-paste was in error, as I put that first round of damage against the half-drow at 1 (not 1d4). Just rerolled and he got a 4 instead.
2) I let my 3rd Edition rules interfere with my 2nd Edition again! I was thinking you had to make a full attack (ie. not move) in order to get the benefit of multiple attacks in a round. Consulting the PHB just now came up with no evidence to support that ruling. I feel like I've waffled back and forth on how strict I am about positioning, but I've mostly erred on the side of letting everyone be where they seem to think they are. As a result, this has really only come up for NPCs. I'll modify going forward.
Expect another round to be posted momentarily.

Sorry, where was the error? My knowledge of the rules on surprise rounds is rusty.

THAC0 wrote: Sorry, where was the error? My knowledge of the rules on surprise rounds is rusty. You said above that the damage in the surprise round would've been 1d4, but the initial post about the power said "1 point of damage". It's not really an issue either way.
Also! While consulting the combat rules this morning I confirmed that a charge gets a single attack (I think). The language is a little AD&Diguous.
