Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
IC background note: for info. The world where Morlan and Dunn come from has a long history of conflict between the Kingdoms of the West (including the Elven Triumvirate and the gnomish realm of The Smokey Downs) and the Forces of the Foe (a demon lord who is master of a realm of orcs, goblins and drow etc.) Members of the long-lived races will likely have some experience of times of war, certainly affecting their families and communities, if not themselves directly. Racial hatred between the two opposing sides is pretty endemic, but is probably greatest between the dwarves and orcs, between the gnomes and goblins, and between the elves and drow.
Dunn will certainly be aware of this historical context, so he should not be surprised by Morlan's rather extreme views on the drow.

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
"Look, I want to get to the drow as much as anyone, except maybe Morlock, here, but there's a wicked spider-demon-thing just outside that trapdoor that's going to eat these poor elves alive. We cannot send them back unescorted, and we can't keep them down here with us just to be killed by the damn drow anyway, or worse if the drow prove too much for us. Seriously, we've just saved these elves. We have a responsibility to make sure they have a reasonable chance of surviving their saving. We have a few ways to do that..."
Dunn thinks a bit, looks a bit crinckly around the mouth, then suddenly brightens. "I have it! Silly me. Since you all don't like the idea of using the mass invisibility spell to keep yourselves safe while we take the elves back, maybe we can use the mass invisibility spell to keep the elves safe while we go galavanting off. We can take them to the entrance, tell them the way back to the main group, and make them invisible. Yul can then mind-flay or link or whatever to someone in the main group, maybe Ark, and tell them about the demon-spider thing and the elves, and see if they can come get the elves. We can also agree to come back this way once the drow are done and rescue the elves ourselves, if no one else is willing to do it. So, the elves hide out and wait for rescue, while we push on. Assuming the spider-demon thing can't fit down that hole, it ought to work."

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Morlan takes a moment to agree to making the elves invisible and sending them on their way, suggests that Nortis might be a good go-between, since he's already been between here and the camp a few times, and then gets back to the business of checking the passage and door for traps.

Joshua thinks Mortis will likely turn on the elves, but at least they have a fair chance.
"are there any dwarves?" he asks, just to be sure

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Emfrid gives an animated roll of the eyes and calls the elves to follow her out. If anyone complains, she says, "I'll be back in time to save you too."
Morlan doesn't find any traps in the hall or on the door.

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Morlan casts a Protection from Evil on himself and opens the door. He is still wearing his Continual Light scarf, and if the sudden illumination catches anyone by surprise he'll go straight in to attack (only pausing if they are obviously not the drow he is looking for).
AND THE WARRIOR OF LIGHT BRINGETH DOOM UPON THE DARKLING FOE!

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
"I like Dunn's plan for the mass invisibility..." Mel begins to say as Emfrid takes the elves out and Morlan opens the door. Mel is torn between keeping his word to the elves and escorting them to the surface and supporting his friend LEEROY JENKI... I mean, Morlan, into the drow pit. (1 round indecision and hesitation).

"See you soon, sugarhips! Got to go!"
Dunn is right behind Morlan - about 15 feet behind, using his Wand of Magic Missile.

Joshua has been itching to move on with the search, so he joins the charge into a (possibly empty) room.
