Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Joshua presses open the door to reveal a diamond shaped chamber with a vaulted ceiling. A dull mural of colored ceramic tiles depicts a blue-white star which Mel will recognize as the antiquated holy symbol of Mystryl (the former goddess of magic and creator of the Weave). As Delhumide was a living city well after Mystryl's destruction, this chamber must either be extremely ancient or have served a cult to the dead goddess once. The mural is damaged, as if stones had been thrown against it, and shards of colored clay lay about the floor indicating that the damage was fairly recent.
Four malnourished male elves move freely about the room; each branded with a fresh, swollen spider icon. The brands don't appear to be burned into their flesh, but are instead blotchy rashes of the kind one might receive from a venomous spider bite.
When the door opens, the four elves clump together and cower in the far corner of the room. Even upon seeing that you are not their captors, they are timidly cautious.

Yul cautions Joshua. "Whatever the unfortunately ones are, their captors will not be far away. Yul looks over his shoulder and gets the rest of the parties attention to their find.

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Joshua walks in, and waves his arms disarmingly,
"do you speak chant?" he asks, "do you understand me? do you want to get out of here?"

"Brash, foolish or confident" Yul thinks to himself a he watches Joshua's disappear into the room. He waits for the rest of the party to reach the doorway and scans the room for any other entrances.

Re: In the Lady's Shadow 2.0 (IC)
Mel looks at Joshua. "I see no reason to bother the soul of this poor elf by subjecting him to a speak with dead spell. Besides, that particular spell takes a while to cast in a secluded place and I don't have it prepared even if we did need it."
After examining the sleeping bags, Mel remarks to everyone: "These sleeping bags are made from silk, perhaps spider silk. That is unusual for a surface dweller. Further, there is little trace of anyone here. These together, coupled with the spider iconography everywhere, lead me to believe that we are dealing with followers of the spider bitch, Lolth. We should be extremely cautious, for if we face drow, they will most certainly attack by stealth and surprise, and they are known for their poisons. If any of you have objects affected with magical light, have them at the ready, for the drow do not like such objects." Mel takes the time to roll up the sleeping bags and stick them in his pack--he doesn't want to leave any warmth or comforts for drow.
Upon seeing the room with the elves, he will show his face (without walking into a room that could obviously be a trap) and say, in elven, "Hello, friends. Who has captured you, and are they around? We can help you leave, if that is your wish."

The elves speak amongst themselves in hushed tones for a moment, electing a spokesman. When the process is finished, one of them responds to Joshua.
"It's too far," he says. "We'll never make it out of the Underdark without being captured again. And they'll kill us for escaping."

Joshua points up and back the way they came, "the surface is right up a ladder over there," he says, "and I have a map that shows some Portals down here, hells, if there's a dwarf among the slaves you can escape right now, otherwise stick with us and we'll find you a way out."
He reaches into his bag of holding, taking out the +1 dagger offering it hilt first, "who's with me?"

Yul senses something is not right with the Elves story. He attempts to contact the leaders mind, then uses ESP to read his thoughts. (GU, ESP allows me to read his current thought, not probe deeper into the targets mind.)"Ask him another question Joshua. Ask him where home is"
