Post Full D&D 3.5 Campaign Level 10
I have spent the past couple of weeks writing up an outdoorsy multi-part adventure just for fun but it turned out a lot more plausible than I thought. Since I am already running a campaign during my one week slot for D&D I have had nowhere to use it. A friend pointed me to play by post. I'm not 100% on etiquette or the way games are usually played here but i am offering the full D&D package, encounters (social and combat) good plot detailed descriptions and sound DM skills.

I'm not going to spend the time to spend an hour going into all the details or the ideas i have for how we are actually going to "play" if no one is interested.

If you are please say so here and if enough people... show up? then I will post the set up were its heads as well as a reasonable, amount of fluff and the "feel" for the adventure.

Please post interest here and we will sort it out from there.

Thanks,
Tom

I'm in. "Outdoorsy" caught my eye and it'd be nice to be nostalgic and play some D&D 3.5.

Count me in, though I'll be away from the computer this weekend and for Thanksgiving. Will this be a homebrew setting?

Awesome. Yes it is a homebrew setting one that I've been working on for quite a while. As for Characters please keep it under tier one or un-optimized tier one. I'm not saying don't make a good character but having a two dimensional unkillable uber power house of a PC isn't the object of this "game".

Other than that knock yourselves out. I will soon be posting a complete synopsis of the setting and its recent history. Along with your characters I would like you to submit around a paragraph of background for your character and back up any interesting class/feat/style choices with a reasonable amount of fluff.

Once I get the setting laid out and your PC's are approved and ready to roll we will decide how we are going to do this. Like I said before I'm not sure what "standard" is for actually playing around here so I don't know if we plan a time of day/week or what.

I like to try and fit a decent amount of actual "role-playing" during social encounters and on the trek between combat, so get ready to really step into your characters shoes.

Please ask any questions you like. The synopsis should be up by Tomorrow if not sooner

Oh and no LARPing

So no spiked-chain giants or Gloves of At-Will Geas, got it.

So gentlemen, let's get a group template together and work on interconnecting our characters. Who's got gmail and can chat about character templates, or has some other kind of IMing stuff that we can all chat on?

How shall we roll up stats? Personally, I prefer using an Attribute Calculator and maximizing hit points. I know it isn't FtB9000 compliant, but if I want to be a paladin then by George I want the charisma for it.

If we do use a calculator, I suggest http://yellowrex.com/tools/pbcalc.php with 30 points. Also, dibs on the wizard class!

Edit: Skype name is somm-1

Yeah, this is a really good question. I don't want to pour tons of points into, say, Dex, and find out that I just gimped every other stat in favor of a build I can't use anyway.

Also, I'll flip through my collection of portraits and decide on a class I want to play based off of that. Do you think we should go for a 'function balance' group, or not worry about that too much and let the group template figure it out?

This is why I hate using the newer 4e and Pathfinder calculators. They suggest 20 points and make the attributes more expensive.
