My answers: MoonHawke wrote: - How do you get along with Aurora's motley (Squick, Madame Night, and Jermiah Somn)? Oh, they're alright. I do like Jeremiah; he's a beautiful and kind man. Madame Night is strange and tends to insert herself wherever she wants, and that can be annoying. I don't really know how I feel about Squick. He's a strange creature. And that name? I don't think so... MoonHawke wrote: - Were you at the part in which the engagement was announced two months ago? What do you feel about it? I don't know why anybody would want to marry - it sounds too restricting. I suppose if it brings peace to the two courts, it can't be all bad. Glad it's not me. The party was lovely, though. Lots of dancing. MoonHawke wrote: - What are you amazing at that you don't let others know? Taking care of the house. The little details - cooking, cleaning. I'm actually really good at that, but even before I met Alric, I wanted people to know that I was a Bohemian. So I tend to keep things messy. When I want to, though, I can whip up a darn tasty meal. MoonHawke wrote: - How long did it take you to figure out it was just a game? Oh, not long at all, not once I went to Faerie! It pretty much has to be a game, doesn't it?

MoonHawke wrote: Mumbles, in answer to your question. Yes, I did mention it, but it was apparently buried in a lengthy post. I didn't miss what you highlighted in red the first time around. I was just trying (possibly failing? I'm sleep deprived again) to ask whether you had mentioned what, specifically, the conflict involved. Like, was it a specific thing (30yrs ago the Spring Queen kicked the Winter King in the jimmy and called him ugly?), or just 30yrs of general animosity, political backstabbery, and changeling douchiness. Sorry about that. My answers: 1. No, I haven't let Madame Night make a prediction for me. I'm tempted. The curiosity is there. But I'm just not ready. I've done quite a bit to work through my own fears since coming out of the hedge -- fear of being defenseless, fear of being grounded, fear over the fact that my escape was either an accident or a side-effect of another True Fae messing with my keeper rather than something *I* did myself -- but I'm still absolutely terrified of what Madame Night might have to say. What if I never get to fly again? What if my Keeper is still looking for me? What if... 2. Not really. Philosophically, I have more in common with Winter than with Spring. Mystery and Secrecy make good neighbors. Then again, so can fear and adrenaline -- especially the way I get down. I probably have an opinion over specific incidents that have happened since I joined the freehold (no one likes it when people screw with their friends), but I think the general culture of conflict is just stupid. 30yrs of infighting where no one really remembers why and we just keep going because it's what we've always done? Sounds too much like how They act. I don't want to get caught by the Others because the people around me are too busy acting like Them to look out for Them. 3. Yeah, I was there when they announced the engagement. I like the idea of a more peaceful, unified freehold, but this feels kind of forced. Arranged political marriages? Ugh. You *can* shove a square peg in a round hole, but it takes an Ogre with a sledgehammer and the process is pretty rough on everything involved (except the sledgehammer, I guess). 4. I have a few irritating habits to choose from. Which one grinds worse on whose nerves is something you'd have to ask them. I tend to stare too long/directly when I'm watching someone. I have a tendency to squeeze and release my hands when I'm tense or angry. How annoying that gets depends on if and what I'm holding at the time. When I get really nervous, and if I'm in trusted company, I tend to fiddle with my karambit - sharpening it, polishing it, flipping it around by the finger ring while I pace back and forth, etc. 5. In my motley, I go to Miller Kettering. He's Autumn Court like me. He gets most of his fix by playing with people's minds rather than putting on a hockey mask and going all slasher flick on mortals. That gives us a couple things in common. Outside the motley, I seek out Tai. I know (or at least I've heard) she gets handed a lot of the bad, dirty business of her court. But she's tough, smart, and doesn't dance around the issue verbally. She's definitely the kind of person I want advising me when the bad, dirty business of changeling life comes looking for me.

Re: Changeling: the Lost Play by Post Anyone?
Martin Brutus Booth/Mikel - Why do you owe loyalty to Queen Aeolian? or What made you decide to join the Spring Court?
Queen Aeolian and the Spring Court go hand in hand for Martin. Inside of him, there's a very good shard of the Autumn court. Knowing his own propensity for depression, he latched onto the furious joy of the Spring Court to keep his balance. Part of being an artistic director means he's not always directing and that catharsis is an important part of who he is.
Queen Aeolian has also helped keep the peace at the theatre and allowed this young upstart to gain a foothold in local politics with his use of the theatre as a font of glamour.
- Were you at the part in which the engagement was announced two months ago? What do you feel about it?
Martin actually helped with the dress for the engagement party. While not a great costumer himself, he employs excellent ones and some of his Contracts helped make it a beautiful thing. He doesn't quite trust Todd White, as anyone who's that laced up sets off something inside Martin. He's wary, but hoping that ice can be melted in the future.
- What keeps you awake at night? From what he's heard, depression and thoughts of Arcadia can act as a beacon for the Gentry. It's difficult, in those quiet hours, to not think of what he can remember of his time in Arcadia. Of what he had to do.
This makes him capable of throwing himself into his work and his parties with a ferocious intensity. This also makes the quiet times when he's alone a tension filled hell.
Every creak of the house settling could be them returning.
- Which of your friends do you have a crush on?
Debroah Geise. Affectionately called Goose by many, she's an upcoming dancer and actress with a good deal of potential. She's been getting larger and larger parts; Martin shepherds her talent with an expert eye. She brings with her a joy that's infectious and he values his time with her. While Martin has never hid his affairs at the theatre, it feels like getting involved with her is a bad idea on a professional as well as a personal level. He doesn't want to bring her into his world and doesn't want people to see her as his toy, being raised to greater heights.
Still, the attraction is strong and growing.

The truth of the matter is, I am not actually serious about playing Alice. Moonhawke is prohibiting it mainly because Alice is a broken character and would be a disruption to your game, not an addition. He is a better NPC than anything else.
