Re: Earthdawn: Vultures circle the Flames (OOC)
I know, but compared to 2nd ed, where you do get those talents anyway, it is significantly less exciting than I thought.

Quote: There are eight tests required to forge the heartblade and the weaponsmith can only make one test per circle What is the first test?

Well, according to the brief blurb you can make a Forge Blade test (Difficulty 10) each time you train for Circle Advancement. The example in the book for the 8 steps is for a sword and the steps they list are: Hilt, Pommel, Guard, Ore for the Blade, Purify the Metal, Forge the Blade, Join the Blade to the Hilt, Blood Magic to tie the Blade to your pattern

Are you okay with the idea of me coming up with hammer variants of the eight sword-making steps listed? You can do it yourself if you prefer, of course.

I would love that, it is your vision of the perfect weapon you are crafting after all. And yes, an ideal time to use your karma dice you don't want to roll a 9 and have to wait till next time to do the whole thing over again.

Re: Eathdawn: Age of Legend (OOC Discussion)
Hearthammer1. Shaft 2. Butt 3. Ore for the Head 4. Purify the Metal 5. Forge the Head 6. Join the Head to the Shaft 7. Decorate the Hammer with Rune Carving 8. Blood Magic to tie the Hammer to your Pattern I replaced 3. Guard with 7. Rune carving because the hammer doesn't really have anything comparable to a guard, but it does have a lot of decoration, which would have to come after the forging. What do you think?

Re: Eathdawn: Age of Legend (OOC Discussion)
Hearthammer1. Shaft 2. Butt 3. Head mounting (the bit with the face) 4. Ore for the Head 5. Purify the Metal 6. Forge the Head 7. Join the Head to the Shaft 8. Blood Magic to tie the Hammer to your Pattern Here's an alternative variant, this time I've replaced 3. Guard with 3. Head mounting, thinking that maybe the single piece Head might be mounted within a unit attached to the shaft, as the butt is on the other end. the decoration can be something that happens during all stages. I think I prefer this option. What do you think?

I agree that sounds good, I think the attachment unit can be a miniature statue of Grabthar It is not like you are not going to Rune Carve that thing right from the get go.
