Do you have any naming conventions or do we have free rein? I have an urge to be... Grabthar, son of Warvan.

"By Grabthar's hammer, by the suns of Warvan, you shall be avenged!" That name works fine, at least it is memorable so, added to my "to do" list, finish the Weaponsmith Page, more detail on the Dwarf page.

Re: Eathdawn: Age of Legend (OOC Discussion)
As we probably already did, here is a map of the area. Thera doesn't appear on this map, but it's far to the southwest of the map. You can see Travar just to the northeast of Death's Sea, near the Dragon Mountains. Travar is near Throal, about a 13 days south by horse, 22 walking. Travar is a beautiful city full, full of gleaming white buildings, towers, and spires. Of all the cities in Barsaive that survived the Scourge, Travar alone still possesses its original splendor and grace...Its location on the Byrose River gives Travar access to the t'skrang traders of the Serpent River and to th eKingdom of Throal. It's proximity to Death's sea and the Servos Jungle allows easy access to both mundane good and magical supplies. Travar builds the most airships sold in Barsaive, and its own fleet now boasts 4 galleys and six drakkars. As the wealthiest city outside of Throal [in Barsaive], Travar and its citizens enjoy the propserous lives that accompany brisk trade and wise leadership. -from an Explorer's Guide to Barsaive Also, Travar has an annual festival lasting multiple weeks called the Founding. It is a tournament including magic, wild beasts, puzzles, and traps. There are champions decided by the Council of Travar to take this challenge, also any one can enter themselves. The winner becomes the Magistrate for the following year (be it the competitor on his own behalf or the one who chose him as champion). The population of Travar is about 95,000. Also, purchasing slaves is illegal in Travar. However, there have been known to be slave traders just outside the city limits for those wishing to make a purchase. The draw of Travar for The Werefrog is that it's large enough to do stuff, and free enough that we won't feel like the bad guys for helping the local government, although we may be against them at times, too. In previous games, The Werefrog have played spellcasters, but this time, The Werefrog was thinking along the lines of K'stalaami Taildancer if we are in a Barsaive-based location or Ork Liberator, or if we would be pro-Thera to a greater extent, Troll Horror-Stalker.

You know I already mentioned I've got a semi irrational hatred of T'SKrang.
Horror Stalker test given by a master to apprentice: In that house there are three children. One of them is a Horror. What do you do? Answer. Board up the house and burn it down.

I'm curious what these Karma Rituals are for. How often are they performed?

Those all sound like very playable options. How the group would feel about Thera is still to be determined, though I rounded out the description today. I'm not sure I remember what a taildancer is though. I'll look that up. Citizen Joe wrote: You know I already mentioned I've got a semi irrational hatred of T'SKrang. Some in character tension is acceptable. In fact some people would say by making a point of the character irrationally hating t'skrang you are asking for there to be plenty of t'skrang in the game, and perhaps for one to win you over. I know I'd find it frustrating to throw the GM a hook like that and have it ignored. goatunit wrote: I'm curious what these Karma Rituals are for. How often are they performed? Karma Rituals are little meditative ceremonies based on your Discipline that you perform at most once per day. They let you purchase (with Legend Points) a number Karma Points. Karma Points can be used on any talent listed with a (D) in the Discipline description and give you a bonus die to add to your roll.

As a Scavian, they were and are in direct competition of the river resources with the K'Tenshin? Arapagoi. That's the semi part. The irrational part is that he believes that they are horrors... I mean LOOK at them! OBVIOUSLY they're Horrors... He also thinks the blood elves are Horror possessed as well... I mean LOOK at them!

Re: Eathdawn: Age of Legend (OOC Discussion)
The Werefrog was looking over Classic Edition's Namegiver's Compendium, and the Taildancer is a T'skrang who are masters of dance and combat. They love using the tail in any fashion they can imagine.
However, the K'stulaami are the winged T'skrang. Their taildancers often times become jik'harra k'stulaa t'syrtis, which roughly translates as deathwings. Basically, the character would be able to fly a little, but not as well as Windling would. By 2nd Circle, the character has talents of Melee Weapons, Unarmed Combat, and Throwing weapons.
Also, as a K'stulaami, some talents get replaced, since the character is sky based instead of water-based, swimming gets replaced by gliding and swift kick is replaced by momentum attack.
Actually, this character sounds like it could be fun. Also, to the one who hates t'skrang due to competition over supplies, it might not apply to our groups since t'skrang basically disown k'stulaami from their clans and houses.

Re: Eathdawn: Age of Legend (OOC Discussion)
I don't have classic edition, I have 1st and 2nd. It sounds like there were a few changes, but the PbP should be more about setting than system (hopefully) werefrog wrote: Actually, this character sounds like it could be fun. Re: Eathdawn: Age of Legend (OOC Discussion)
That's only going to fly if he claims to be a dragon and not a T'skrang... and is the one that sold me the T'skrang hide boots (probably just alligator boots).
I can just play a different character though.
