 Re: [Skype/Maptools] Dresden Files
I do not type very quickly so Skype would definitely be preferable. As to the Fantasy Grounds, I can probably scrounge $24 dollars but would prefer a free one unless it turns out very poorly.
Cities, Portland would work for me. I want to do something that doesn't fit traditional urban Jungle feel. It has it's own very prominent unique characteristics.
Some options I think could be cool. Anchorage, Honolulu, Austin, San Diego/Tijuana, Asheville NC.(Super hippy liberal town, smack dab in the middle of the North Carolina Mountains), New orleans, Flint Michigan.
Some place I don't know anything about but keep coming up in my head. Tallahassee, Salt lake city, Santa Fe, Atlanta, Nashville, Reno.

Well, Portland is very definitely not a traditional Urban Jungle. There are laws on the books to limit the height of buildings. Plus I have a lot of stuff written for it already, to give us a jump start on city creation. And like I said, I do have one extra lite license I can give someone if they need it due to funds. I wish I had the money to spring for an Ultimate license, which allows any number of unregistered users to play in your games.

I type fairly slow and I read fairly slow also. As for the price, I can probably gather up enough for one of the licenses if that is what the majority decides they want to do. I started Googling colleges in Portland as soon as we discussed and found REED college which I feel might be an interesting counter point to my character concept.

It's liberal, but it's also full of trust fund babies as well. Very odd sort of place. If we do use Portland, I'm more than willing to provide all sorts of extra information.

I dunno, that strikes me as too much like a GM screen, and I've never been one for rolling in secret. Quote: Still I would like to see rolls di anyone ever check out taebl? Not yet. Does it do fudge dice? And honestly, I'm also looking for something that will allow us to share sheets and the like. I am serious in that Fantasy Grounds looks really awesome for something like this.

And honestly, I'm also looking for something that will allow us to share sheets and the like. I am serious in that Fantasy Grounds looks really awesome for something like this. The set I built has 4 fudge dice expressed as d3-2s (Thus the results are -1, 0, and 1) they can be rolled all at once or any number individually for certain Dresden files powers that allow a character to freeze dice when someone forces a re-roll. As for the sharing of sheets Google Docs can work for that. Though I will admit I have yet to see what fantasy grounds does. I do know that Dresden is a very map lite game where movement can be expressed in crude maps divided into zones, there for there is no need for a grid system.

 Re: [Skype/Maptools] Dresden Files
True, you don't need grids, though I have been using the nifty gridded movement done by Fred Hicks in some of my games. But you're right in that it doesn't need it.
