K, so I just got my first stuff for Warhammer 40k this Christmas, and I really like the setting. I'd love to run a play by post on it.

While we might play as the Space Marine featured in the videos, we will most likely have the characters be Imperial Guard (which are just normal human soldiers). Tell me what you guys think!

Are you using Dark Heresy?

Tickle me interested. What are the rules? Or is this the PbP version of LARPing?

No we will not be using Dark Heresy, if anything, we will use a simple "roll a 20 sided die (or random number generator) and if you roll above 10, you succede" system. I want this game to be more about story and description that powergaming and min-maxing (because that is what I usually do, and I'm tired of it). Is that okay with you?

As stated above. I don't know what you meant by PbP version of LARPing? Like we would act something out and then Post what we acted out? That would be weird...

No, what I had meant was exactly what you posted. Where the story is what drives everything and the 'rules' are mostly there in case peoplebut heads. Actually, I've never LARPed so I don't know if that's even close. But thats what it seems like it should be to me.

In any case, I'm definitely interested, how were you thinking of starting us off? And what are the odds I'll get to play a dark eldar space pirate?

Hmmm.... dark eldar space pirate...... NO!!!

I'm only joking, but I don't want people playing on oposite factions (besides Space Marines and Imperial Guard, but even that has it's problems). And since we will most likley playing be play a Inquasition faction. If you want, you could play a Eldar who fights for the Imperium of Man. How would that sound?

It could work... The dark eldar are outcasts anyway right? It might not be too out there. Alright, I'll try and work it in to whatever comes up.

Well I think Dark Eldar just full out evil, so I don't think they would ever fight for the Imperium. I think you could play just a normal Eldar though. Would that work for you?

In the end, they are the same race aren't they? So an outcast of either would basicaly be the same. But yeah, I don't mind an eldar.
