I'm thinking about doing a PbP for API. it wouldn't be here, but I'd like to open it up to Booters who were interested.

Apocalypse Prevention, Inc. is a Men in Black style game (a little more serious, but with humor) where API is a large, international organization that stops supernatural threats. They work with magic, cybernetics, skilled agents, and Demons (non-humans) and I was thinking of a Supernatural style game where the characters can wander the countryside/world as they become enmeshed in a grander scheme.

I'm interested. What would be required?

I'll put it up on rpol, most likely. I'll let Booters know before I take other applicants---if we can fill it from folks here, so much the better.

I figure we'll start with a mission with parallel side stories for each character that showcases how they left behind their previous lives. Overall, I'd like a Supernatural-esque elite squad that's able to travel the world to help keep the supernatural world under wraps.

I don't know what API is. Does that make me lame?

The system is a d20 roll + attribute +skill (usually) with a fairly fun combat system that allows for some more interesting combat than many games. It's dark but with a sense of humor. Several options for characters. Magic and Cybernetics are available through API. Other races that work for them include Burners (fire demons), Spectrals (ghosts), Changelings (shape shifters), Lochs (Deep Ones, basically), Wolf People (werewolves), and a type of Vampire. Holographic devices and other cool tech helps API agents appear human and as different people to help them keep humanity safe.

Think Men in Black meets Buffy meets Supernatural and you're pretty much there.

I can get it. Not a problem. The game sounds interesting, so it's worth it (to me...)

How soon do I need it?

I would really like in on this. I do not have the rulebook but if it's necessary for me to play I'm willing to seek out a copy.

I'd love to play a (younger) Harry Dresden type, a wizard that knows what's going on but isn't allowed to freak out the mundanes by actually talking about it.

The rulebook is only $12 for the pdf. It'd be possible to work you through it without the book, but of course, it helps to have it.

A Harry Dresden type is pretty easy to do.

Got the PDF... Now I need to read it and get an idea for a character. We gonna group template this, or just wing it in good faith?
