 NYC Booters!
I've recently moved back to Staten Island and I'm trying to put together a gaming group, or find one that will take me. Ideally I'd love to find a group on the Island, but I'm willing to travel to Manhattan and Brooklyn -at least as far as Midtown and Park Slope, respectively.
Savage Worlds is my system of choice, and eventually I'd like to run a Day After Ragnarok campaign.
I'm open to just about any other games/systems though. I'm more interested in meeting some fellow gamers and making some new friends.

"I have had it with these &*%$((!@ gamers on this $#&(*$# plane."
Anyways, good luck finding a group Atomic. I can vouch for him, he's a great gamer and a good guy to have in your group.

Hey Atomic!
I definitely feel your pain! I live in Brooklyn (right off the J train) and I've had a hell of a time finding a consistent group.
I'm just now starting to ramp up the search, think I'm gonna stop by Compleat Strat up in Midtown over the weekend (seems like there are usually games going on up there). I'll let you know if anything turns up, would love to game with a fellow booter!

 Re: NYC Booters!
You can't find anyone to game with in Brooklyn!?! That's crazy talk. NerdNYC.com -they run some great events. There are also several MeetUp groups in Brooklyn and a new gaming store that opened recently and is always looking to get people together for games. If I didn't have to pay the $11 toll to get back to Staten from Brooklyn I'd be in half a dozen games right now. Seriously though, it can be hard finding the right group even when you're surrounded by gamers. Good luck!

Haha, yea it might be fair to say I haven't exactly tried too hard... but that's about to change.
Thanks for the NerdNYC link, looks like an awesome resource!
See you around the scene

 Re: NYC Booters!
Gotham Gaming Group, which is affiliated with NErdNYC, is about to kick off their next micro-campaign. As of a few days ago they still had some slots open.
Basically you play the same character for 3 or 4 sessions, so its a little like con gaming, but with more depth. If you can't get into that definitely try to attend the next NerdNYC Recess game day. That's basically a one-day con. I had a blast at the last one. They both cost about $20 -which goes to pay for the gaming space at Studio 440, about half a block from Union Square.
On the MeetUp front there is a group called RPGeezers. Lots of social meet-ups, WoD and older D&D games. And really just about anything you care to propose to the group.

 Re: NYC Booters!
I'm torn. $50 for a single day of gaming is pretty outrageous. Unless Luke Crane is giving handjobs to every paying customer. They I guess its a deal. I'm also never really sure where I stand on Burning Wheel. Even though every Indie Gamer with a podcast tells me its amazing, I'm not in love with it. It seems more like a game that only Indie Gamers with podcasts play on a regular basis. I kid. I've got the core books, Burning Empires, and Mouse Guard, but I've never had an opportunity to play any of them. There are things about the system that I think are wonderful and I have used in non-Burning Wheel games; Beliefs & instincts for example. But having listened to several Actual Plays of BW and MG I don't know -they sounded pretty boring to be honest. Character creation was the most interesting part. I think I just prefer more Game and less "Everyone's a Storyteller" in my RPGs. That's a really round-about way of saying, I'd really love to sit down and actually play some Burning Wheel games, but not for $50.
