 Malifaux
Anyone here played Malifaux? It's a relatively new Tabletop Minis game which uses a very interesting setting(the creator defines it as Steamvictoriohorrorwestpunk). The game got great minis but I suppose it's either hit or miss with some players(for me, I love them). The game plays a bit like Warmachine but model activation are handled a bit differently. Each players takes turn activating one model until all models have been activated and then the game goes to the next turn. The game is diceless and uses a Fate Deck to determine whether an action is successful or not. It's not just a fancy gimmick to replace a 13-sided die though, the card mechanic is really interesting and adds a lot of depth to the gameplay. The crew building is simple enough with small number of soulstones(points to use to recruit models). Unused soulstones are not wasted because players can use them in-game for various purposes. Here's photo of one of my crew(Lady Justice): http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/Xan ... yJCrew.jpgMy friend's crew(Som'er Teeth Jones): http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/Xan ... erCrew.jpg

 Re: Malifaux
I've heard of the game and the setting sounds interesting. But as hard as it is to get anyone around here to play anything other than GW, I don't see myself dropping the cash on another minis game at this time.

 Re: Malifaux
I'm a big fan and it is taking off like wild fire here at the local game shop. The store is mostly GW and Flames of War, so I was surprised at how well Malifaux is doing. I was also a bit afraid that with Warmachine Mk 2 coming out that would cut into the playerbase as well but it hasn't. Really fun game that scales well to multiple players.

 Re: Malifaux
I just run the Perdita box currently. Thinking about picking up the Viktorias and a pack of Ronin soon.

 Re: Malifaux
I want to try this game. Another podcast so going nuts over it. The story sounds cool as hell.

 Re: Malifaux
anyone playing in central nebraska? I'd love to start this or even Warhammer 40K. But I'd need to play more than once or twice a year to make it worth the cash outlay. Tom the guy

 Re: Malifaux
Expansion is coming! http://www.wyrd-games.net/node/95The new figs looks great and I like the looks of those terrains. To be honest, I haven't played Malifaux for quite a while now, but these new updates got me really pumped up. Oh, I played in a Malifaux tourney today and won first place with my Lady J Crew. Not bad, now I can get those Austringers for my Perdita Crew.
