 New rules for 40K?
I haven't followed 40K since the tail end of 3rd. I didn't like the changes they made to 4th and to be honest, I was kind of burned out from a year of very competitive gaming. Today one of the guys I played a lot of 40K with texted about the new rules changes but I can't find anything online.
So anyone heard anything?

I don't really follow GW stuff, but they have a 40k rulebook listed under new products. Looks like it's $75, which I doubt includes tax and shipping.

So anyone heard anything? Sixth edition came out recently. No idea what's changed beyond "all your old armies are now obsolete". I haven't considered 40k worth anything since second edition.

 Re: New rules for 40K?
I've thought for a while that an "unofficial" WH40K game using MapTool could be a lot of fun. No one would need to care about buying and decorating minis; just build armies of an agreed-upon point value, make some terrain, and have fun. Any edition and any options would be acceptable so long as everyone was on the same page.

Although I'd have to wait until I've been back to my parents' place and picked up the rulebook.

Are you talking about the recent Rogue Trader RPG? Because I've been wanting to run THAT for years now.

 Re: New rules for 40K?
Nope, the original 40k ruleset. What came before Second Edition. Back when Zoats roamed the galaxy and the Squats were space biker dwarves. When Space Marines were punks, not monks. When you couldn't outrun a Genestealer because you had a Move stat, and it had a Move stat, and its was bigger. When something lasting d10 turns was probably going to burn out before the end of the battle. When you needed dice that weren't d6s to play 40k. When you needed a GM to play 40k.

Should the Battle Hymn of the Republic be hummed in the background of what you said?

Possibly. Or maybe just a loop of "McNutcase is an old fart".

 Re: New rules for 40K?
I skipped right from RT to 3rd. Apparently the new ed brings back a lot of the 2nd stuff. I loved both Rogue Trader and 3rd ed. I also consider them two totally different games. While RT had a lot of great stuff, I also enjoy the less comical take that 3rd had. I don't miss Squats... But I did allow them in my Inquisitor game and they were a ton of fun. 40K Ogryns and some green stuff = pretty damn good Inquisitor Squats models.
BTW, if anyone wants to run a PBP version of any of the 40K RPGs, I'm down.
