Post Battletech, but with like... dragons and stuff.
So, I looooooove Battletech. Old school straight out of the box 3025 Battletech. I love it's "elegance" it's ease of play. I love how easy it is, our was to build mechs using the tonnage allotments. I spent more time making mechs than I did playing. I had the charts all memorized so all day at school I would build bad ass robots of mass destruction. Has anyone grafted fantasy onto the mech creation/combat systems of Battletech? I'm thinking stamina instead of heat, movement the same except for wings in place of jump jets. Some sort of pseudo-generic effect ala 4e d&d for magic based off of the laser/missile type weapons but I'm stumped on the melee weapons. Would just the standard hatchet be enough? I don't have a copy of the rules in front of me, and my memory is filled with other stuff now. Has anyone tried this? Did it work? The only rule here is I want to only use 3025 type stuff no ER PPC's or MPL's. No Arrow IV's or any of that clan level BS.

Thanks in advance!

I want to fight a Dragon with my Mech. I actually mentioned something like that on the episode that will be releasing this week.

Thinking the PPC would replicate breathing fire, Small Laser would fill in for a tail whip, and hatchets for the claw/claw in claw/claw/bite.

Something like a light man at arms. Sword, and srm2 for a crossbow.

Change your hatchets out for claws, according to current Total Warfare rules you cannot make more than one physical attack per turn excepting punching or claws. Besides I think that probably fits your aesthetic a bit better.

Claws rules (Technically not tech 1 but they're freaking claws!)

According to Pg 288 Tactical Operations: Claws weigh 1 ton and occupy 1 critical slot per 15 tons of mech weight and automatically replaces the hand.

They do damage based on tonnage divide by 7 and add a +1 to hit, but they still hit on the punch table

Edit: Oh and Wayne there are actually Dragon mounted Infantry in Technical Readout 3085 so they are out there I think they are Marik troops
