Granted there are exceptions (apparently Brandon Sanderson is a hell of a Magic player), but for most people I knew it was about spending the most money on the killer deck. also the whole limited format goes against this, where you draft your deck. its very skill intensive.

Mythic Rares? Ahrghgaghagzhfgsg!?@
Again I state, I'm not saying Magic is bad, and I'm sure Mythic rares introduce fruitful design-space into the game.
But man, yeah, Magic isn't for me, even though it's a damn good game. Spending all my money on little metal men at the moment.

 Re: MTG: New Phyrexia
Honestly mythic rares are more of Wizards saying hey, those really awesome cards we design, yea we print less of them on our card sheets. Sorry about lying so much earlier in our relationship.

It was why the Lorywn planeswalkers seemed extra rare. On a side note, HOLY HEAD EXPLOSION, the m12 Chandra makes me wanna play red.

Magic online will always find people. Although be careful, I signed up last year. Spent 200 dollars drafting for like 30 hours straight, then closed my account because it's TOO easy to play magic.
