 Warhammer 40K and Warmachine
Are people still playing Warhammer 40k? It seems that the majority of people that I know have all moved over to Warmachine and Hordes.
It's making it a pain to sell my Tau army.

 Re: Warhammer 40K and Warmachine
IIRC correctly, there was a recent rules update and that always throws WH40K into a tail spin until they recover and find out what is the new uber race and which armies have been violated with the nerf hammer. Give it six months to a year to sort itself out. Personally, I burned out about a year and a half ago when my gaming group moved on to the next new shiny thing. -- TAZ

 Re: Warhammer 40K and Warmachine
I haven't played in years, which is why I'm looking at getting rid of my army. I'm considering Warmachine, but I probably won't pick it up.

 Re: Warhammer 40K and Warmachine
I quit playing 40k before 4th ed. came out. I had just won a huge tourney series and was burned out.I tried Warmachine but wasn't impressed and hated the setting... and the figs. I think Warmachine stole some of 40K's thunder, but I still get calls to play. Every time I go to the store I see 40K players... more often than Warmachine.

 Re: Warhammer 40K and Warmachine
I actually like the WM setting more than 40k. Just not a big wargamer.

 Re: Warhammer 40K and Warmachine
40K is still considerably more popular around here than WM is...unfortunately.

Secondly, I don't think anyone around here plays them. I got into 40K because all of my friends at the time were playing. They've all pretty much stopped, which is why I haven't played in forever. And so I'm lamenting the fact that everyone now playing WM makes getting rid of my 40K army harder. I haven't decided if it's worth spending the money getting into WM yet. I probably won't, as I don't like to assemble and paint figs. Plus I have a lot of other things on my plate atm.

 Re: Warhammer 40K and Warmachine
Mordheim and Necromunda are the skirmish level 40K/WFB games.

 Re: Warhammer 40K and Warmachine
Both games have free downloads of the rules, and at least Mordie is easy to fill out a warband from either existing Warhammer armies or your FLGS's used fig case. Same rules and guns, just all (for the most part) human.
