Post Your Funniest TPK
Since everyone has a good story. I was wondering what some of the funniest/wierdest TPK's (Total Party Kills) were.

Please try and Keep them short. I am not looking for a Book.

Mine happened while fighting a former member of the Party who went Evil. We were in a Tunnel being attacked by him and his Minions, When the person playing our MAIN FIGHTER was so intoxicated he decided to fight "Tooth and Nail". Needless to say we were all Killed and the Evil Army Destroyed the Town we were Defending.

I've never had a TPK as a GM, but I have had two as a player. I dont really know that they were "funny", but these are the only two I got :)

The first one was a sci-fi game in which our craft was shot down in orbit, and as we were falling, the two people playing engineers were arguing over how best to absorb the impact. They both decided their way was best not giving in (we had a very limited time window) - and as a result, we died in the crash, or shortly thereafter for lack of an alive medical attendant...

The second one was a DnD game in which we were facing a clearly outmatched force, and it was apparent that we were not suppose to actually attack the foes. The barbarian in our group was very big on not backing down, regardless of the odds, and he was just so darn passionate about it that we all got caught up in his fervor. About mid charge I realized just what I was doing, and decided that it was a bad idea, but it was a bit to late for that.

My only TPK happened the first time I'd ever DMed. It was a dungeon crawl.

In short? There was a big, empty room, with the party on one side (three PCs, no Rogue), and an imp on the other going, "Nyah nyah, come and get me!" The PCs came and got him; they all charged straight across the room and right onto the pit trap with three zombie dragons who immediately hit them with a triangle breath attack, and it went downhill from there.

Note that this was fairly high-level, and three zombie dragons would normally have been a pretty fair fight, had they not all charged straight into a trap because a devil asked them to.

The Paranoia RPG, I made the mistake of telling the players that the battlemech's anti-matter powerplant was impervious to harm. They... uh... proved me wrong. :-)

So many WFRP stories to choose from...

This one wasn't a complete TPK, but it was close. The PCs snuck into a fort, did their sabotage work, and were sneaking back out when they found the powder storage for the cannons. Some discussion ensued, which ended with one player uttering the fateful line, "He wouldn't have put it in here if he didn't want us to use it."

Oi.

The players refer to that adventure as "the Alamo."

I'm not sure this counts, but let's see. Sorry if it's a bit long.

AD&D game back in junior high school with level one characters and a new DM. While we made camp, people started getting picked off. The magic user was killed while everyone (who was left) was still awake. One character comes up with the mage's head and reveals that she's a succubus. Fight ensues. Our weapons bounce off harmlessly.

I tell everyone that we're going to die if we don't run. The other players decide that only a magic weapon will work so they pick up the magic user's head and use it as a club. Meanwhile, I start shoving treasure into bags. The succubus starts chanting and making hand gestures, so I leave the room and, when my compatriots won't leave, bar it shut. The 30'X30' fireball in the 10'X10' room killed everything. Except for me, who went to town with seven horses and two huge sacks filled with treasure.

Only ever really had 2, neither was funny or particularly dramatic. It's pretty much always come down to one particular GM I used to play with putting us in a Richard Pryor campaign (that's what "horror" was, in his eyes), forcing us into a situation we weren't capable of handling, and dying to much more powerful beings.

E.g.. putting freshly embraced vampires up against a seasoned Euthanatos mage who had a heavily warded sanctum, explosive shotgun rounds, and access to Forces 3/Prime 2 deathrays. Took 4 rounds to kill or torpor 3 PCs and drive the 4th into fear frenzy and then kill her in a trap on the way out. I believe the mage took one point of damage in return.

See the movie, "Gamers", for the best TPK. After they beat The Shadow, you see the TPK.

I very much disliked this movie.
