Post Lone Wolf (the true solitaire of RPG's)
This isn't about 1-on-1 games, it's about the original Lone Wolf game books. Anyone play with these? I just discovered them over at Project Aon, where they're archived, legally and for free! I'm not a 12 year old boy, and this isn't the 1980's but I just started with the first book and it's surprisingly fun. It's like a proto-video game.

I was more of a Fighting Fantasy man myself but I did play one Lone Wolf book and it was very good. Those books and Heroquest were really what got me started in roleplaying.

Great to see them online. I'll certainly be having a go, nostalgia ahoy!

I loved them and still own 2-6. I have gone back to try to read them now but I haven't found the time.

Yeah, I had some of those books. They were fun. :D

After a while, though, I tired of the narrow options available. Too many times I found myself wanting an alternative that just wasn't catered for. That's where proper tabletop RPG win every time! :D

I went through 12 of those book with the same "Lone Wolf" and they were wonderful. Loved them so much, bought the "Magnumund Companion" which simply described the world and the creatures.

I also did the Greystar the Wizard series.

Bought the RPG last year at Gen Con, and it is still sitting on my shelf. :(
