Most Broken Wizard Build Possible(3.5 D&D)
I recently joined a group 3.5 players a friend of mine has been with for roughly a year now. When I showed up for the first session two weeks ago I had built what I considered a fairly good straight level six wizard that dappled in all the magical schools. My idea was to come into the game being the magical equivalent of a Swiss army knife. After the first session of the game I realized a few things about the DM. All the enemies that are thrown against the party so far have been completely immune to illusion spells except for troll encountered in the first session. The second he believes in the World of Warcraft style logic behind town guards and npcs. All of them are extremely high level or practically all illusion spells involving any save are easily passable. Which in role play has been somewhat annoying especially since most of the support characters we have interacted with would be deemed level 15-I am a god! So I have been trying to change the current build to be the most powerful or crazy fun combat wizard around. At the moment it seems in most guides I have found in roughly a level or two I should start multiclassing/adding prestige classes. So I have been holding off on a decision for changing my character. I know I am going to level up next session so now is the time to decide a new path for this character. My question is what builds for wizards would you suggest. I am looking for a pure damaging character or extremely fun play style. All 3.5 books are open to use and I have 3,000 gold left for any last minute item changes. Also the cheesier the better.

Incantatrix are hard to beat for Prestige Class: from Player's Guide to Faerun.
There are two main ways of going about this: Persisting buffs to make you into a better fighter than your fighter or turning your blasting spells into veritable WMDs.
I've done the latter type, but both are fun ways to maximize your Wizard's damage dealing potential. The strength of the class comes from being able to add metamagic feats to your spells for free. Persist Spell + Wraithstrike = hitting touch ac with weapons. Persist Spell + Swift, Fly = easy way to get a fly speed for a low level spell. Alternatively, you can just add things like Repeat spell, or twin spell to summons. Or split ray on your rays.
And yeah, it's generally considered one of the cheesiest of classes. So, you got that going for you.

Eh. Start with a Candle of Invocation. Use it to summon an efreeti. It's compelled to grant you three wishes. Make the first one another Candle of Invocation and start doing crazy stuff with your infinite chain of wishes.

Borderline (or actual) pun-pun builds aside, it's easier to go into a prestige class or three. At the upper end, there's Incantrix, IotV, and similar. That said, there is a particular build that does pure damage very, very well. The Mailman build.

So Noble Bear and The Almighty Bear what exactly do guys means by "organic" and "Viletta Vadim". So are those categories for classes, feats, items, or homebrew classes because if your suggesting I should build a wizard that fights using a warforged "mech" I am 150% for this idea. edit: Looked at the mailman build and its actually pretty amazing. My only thing is I did make a character around the guy being a scholar and bookworm. Spent years studying magic and that doesn't exactly fit with the sorcerer who automatically has magic without much effort. I will definitely keep the concept in mind if decide to leave the wizard class entirely.

Possibly not the advice you're looking for, but consider finding/creating another group.

Her skill at making game-systems, ~especially~ 3.x, whimper and beg for mercy is legendary. You'll note that her first, very viable suggestion was to get an infinite chain of wishes. Now, you just need to get her to tone it down to the level where the DM doesn't just end the game as soon as he realizes what you've got. Now, that said, if you want to keep the "Swiss Army Knife" concept, go with a Conjuration specialist. Take Monster Summoning at every level. Learn the abilities of the monsters in question. You'll be able, ultimately, to do anything that the rest of the party can't do. And I do mean ANYTHING.
