Chad should check out Wilderness of Mirrors if he wants a Chad-Ass game. I used it as a side story for my Marvel Super Heroes (FASERIP) game a few years ago.

I've been wanting to play a game of that for some time now. I'm going to have to check it out.

It's a lot like Inspectres in resolution. The players tell you everything they have to do to accomplish their mission and get dice into a pool for the obstacles.
This episode also solidified an idea for the next FTC. I'm going to run 2-3 games with nothing to start with. One, I'll have the players choose a song for me to listen to and then I'll pick from a few systems and go. Another, I think I'll have them give me 3 words and a genre. I'll tie those together and make a one-shot

Re: Episode 272 - games within games
I thought the discussion on playing multiple characters in the same world was neat, particularly since I was in a game that did that. In a Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire game our party got split and instead of trying to bring us back together, the GM just had us create "minor characters" for the stuff happening away from our mains. This turned out to be super useful- as it was Song of Ice and Fire and of course there was a horrendous character turnover rate at the climax of story arcs- our GM just gave us points if we went out in a particularly cool or poignant way and let us upgrade the minor characters. And if the minor house guards, retainers, kids, died before then, you hadn't sunk a huge amount of time into the crunch.
However, while it was fun, I imagine it was a lot of work for the GM, so kudos to him. I think it's a good thing for players to consider in fantasy worlds, especially if you want to run knights or other nobility- or even a band of Merry Men. If the party splits, there are other members of that group that can be grabbed for a retinue for that guy with the "PC" floating over their head. It let the guy playing the clever sneaky visier play a bruiser with a huge Morningstar, or the guy playing the Knight play a rouge, without stepping on their own toes too much.
Okay, that tangent aside, this was a good episode, even without the magnificence of Dan -.^
